Here in the uk (as those who have read my posts may already know..) the professionals label us, if we’re fortunate, with the “correct” labels, then leave us to our own devices unless we’re in “crisis” in which case “treatment” may be forced. I’ve actually found a med I’m not allergic to
![]() Some of their standard phrases “you need to help yourself” (that’s probably one of the most benign .. could I say they behave as if they have a limited vocabulary? - wash your mouth out Fuzzybear - Whether it helps, I have no idea. No follow up, nothing. Sure I could make another 10 minute appointment. I really really don’t want to. ![]() ![]() ![]() (Feeling like deleting this.. I’ve tried so many ways to “help myself” ![]() Tempted to stop the med. (blood tests are needed, according to the “info” - this wasn’t given even when I asked) This is so freakin boring. I’m so tired of being a “patient” when they don’t want to help.

I'm not sure I understand. Why do you want to stop the med?
I have to do routine blood tests and they are a pain. Sorry you're struggling ![]() |

Blood tests are just a few minutes and there's no big deal. I've done routine bloodwork for 12 years. I don't even think about them at this point.

How long have you been on the med?
If it's definitely not helping, then I agree there's no point in taking it anymore. At that point, you're just putting chemicals into your body that do nothing. Not saying you should stop your meds, since that's obviously for your pdoc to decide, but I know the frustration. I've been on many failed meds. |

About 3 weeks I think..
![]() ![]() (It was actually a med I tried before but the doctor I had then insisted on stopping it and prescribing Seroquel..Although this particular doctor had a pleasant manner so I “complied” until I became allergic to the Seroquel) I guess I’ll give it a bit longer.. I managed (sort of) without meds for a while though. I rarely visit doctors (I’m psychically allergic to them)

Hi Fuzzy,
Self help is painful. We are forced to do things we don't want to. Even if we know we have to. The key, in case, (BTW, I don't want to sound petulant always talking about myself, but I'm the only person I know well,) is to put one foot in front of the other. Slowly. Taking breaks, but being firm. Don't let a day go by that you don't learn something, or take a little step forward. That's my experience with self help. I'm doing what I preach. You can too. Good luck.
