I have about had it with not sleeping. I do my nightly routine take my nightly meds. I was told I could try Unisom, which hasn't done anything.
I am up all night and it's starting to drive me crazy. I used to take Trazodone for sleep, what was taken off of it due to the fact that the doctor thought it was causing mixed episodes along with an antidepressant.
I want to start taking it again and I might do so tonight without telling my Dr. I just need some rest and to feel that I'm not losing it.
I know we talked about not changing things without the doctor first but I need some relief.
Any suggestions?

Same here... if it wasn't for my unscheduled naps, I'd go bananas.

Tried everything (within reason) to knock myself out. Weed helps...

Pleasant rest

I smoke pot to sleep. It's legal where I am with a prescription. It's the only thing to match sleeping pills.

I also take 3 mg of Xanax and that no longer helps. I have in the past smoke pot but don't really recall what it did for sleep. I have heard about the oils of marijuana or something like that, but haven't looked into it.
I just know that I enjoy my sleep, I'm not really tired during the day but it is so hard to be up all night. I can't do much around the house as to wake up others. So I just lay there. I guess I will have to get in touch sooner with my Dr so we can discuss this. That is just going on too long for me.

I was taking a low dose (only 25 mg) of Seroquel at bedtime. It knocks me flat out. Then I cut them in half. Still worked.

Then, I realized I don’t need them because the gabapentin puts me to sleep. I had started those later.

Sometimes the sound of talking puts me to sleep. I will try to listen to a YouTube lecture and wake up hours later.

I had to quit using sound machines because they hypnotize me. I would wake up at 2:00 in the afternoon the next day - !!

Seroquel has never fazed me, I took my highest dose in the morning when I was on it and it never made me tired. Gabapentin didn't work for me it was too much of a drugged-up Feeling. I know there's got to be something out there.

Ambien doesn't do much anymore. I lie awake and mind runs until morning. Side effects to trazedone.
