When I was young and single I used to be a pretty snappy dresser now I lay on my couch in sweatpants and a tshirt. So I got to thinking how happy I was to dress nice not like the slob I have become. Now I will wear my comfy stuff at home but I want to dress better when I go out in public now this will be tough for me cause I am challenged with taking more than one shower a week. Now I am not going to drop a ton of money on a new wardrobe I will buy the $20 slacks at Walmart or elsewhere as for shoes I will wear my Nike shoes and some nice shoes. Now another thing I am doing to improve myself is my wife signed me up for glass blowing classes and I have wanted to do that since I was a kid. Here are some shoes I bought today.

Now I would like to see if we could maybe start a feel good thread post up that new outfit that you just got or a new pair of shoes you picked up and who cares where you bought your stuff as long as it makes you happy. Got a new hobby or are taking a class tell us about it. I have a hard time reading post about how unhappy you are cause it is a trigger for me and I am sure it is to others. I am not saying I don't post stuff that bothers me but I would like to see some more positive stuff.

I have a friend that needed some help catching up in her home based quilting business. I've started helping out a few days a week. It has really helped having a place to go and stuff to keep my mind busy, even though, some days I don't really feel like it.

My son and I drove around in the new loaner Audi they gave me while mine is in the shop and we bought a Metallica CD and played it in the car.

I'm all about trying to make myself happy, because life is one big depressing trigger. Now that my psychotic obsessions went away, I'll have money for new clothes and accessories!

I've been into exercising a routine every morning and going for long walks to get in shape.
Thanks for this!

Working on creating electronic music and watching Parks and Rec with my wife.

the latter amuses, and it makes me happy to do something that allows me to connect with my wife. The music is purely for my happiness....

Been making sure to give myself plenty of me time. I've gotten much better at managing Bipolar than I once was. Noticed it's important for me to spend some time alone lately and not feel bad or ashamed about it.

In my me time, I will usually:
Play video games
Watch movies/tv shows (especially funny ones)
Write
Go on forums

I also tend to purposely avoid things I know will make me sad like:
Sad songs
Dark spaces/rooms/places
Certain people
Facebook

Thank you....I am very grateful.
........I would hasten to add, that my Better Half does, by far, the majority of labor needed.

Better half dreamt as a young adult, of owning a White Horse, so when the opportunity arose........
Later Better Half was diagnosed with BPD.
"Chalkie" IMO, Yes, has been enormously Therapeutic.....

Thanks so much for this thread-totally awesome. I too am working on shaking off some of my funk of laying around in sweatpants Last night when I went to book club I wore a black skirt, purple socks & a beautiful purple blouse my daughter gave me-I also put my hair up & wore a pretty hair clip (also purple). Speaking of glass blowing I also wore my favorite gauge earrings that are big glass spirals. It made me feel really good & happy. Also when I saw my tdoc today I wore some purple velour pants (favorite color) & my super nerdy Hairy Otter sweatshirt I got at the Monterey Aquarium-happy happy joy joy.

Am much as I get paid out for it, I am an avid fan of Star Trek, having every episode ever made and find watching them has a calming and grounding influence.

I have set myself a goal of achieving just one useful task a day this makes you feel good about yourself.
I tick off one thing of my to do list everyday and this motivates me to do more.

I have been putting off mailing a very important package for the last two weeks and I got it shipped off today. I live two blocks from the river and after I mailed my package I took my little dog on a walk down the paved trail man it was nice and peaceful.
