Any dumber, don't function.
Any smarter, would already know how screwed everything is.

That’s me at the moment. Considering that a month ago I was actively suicidal it’s nice to be happy.
No real secret. IP for a medication tweak did the trick for me.

My mind is in such pain right now. My whole life, all I've worked for, is about to go down the ******* in 28 days.....unless a miracle sweeps me off my feet.
I've cheated myself.
I've lied to myself...big time .
I've torture and abuse my emotions on a daily basis.
Every dammed thing sucks *** and it is all so depressing.
Yet....
I'm still here...
I'm still alive? How the hell did that happen?
Look, you have no idea the effect you have on others. Trust me.
I found something I used to just love as a child, and went back to doing it. Cures it? No.
But a good distraction might be all you need.
Depression is Never going to "go away".
The bad times remind of how good the good times really are.
I suck at it, but I try to focus on the good times.
All I can do is keep trying or die...

Meds, therapy, and meditation. Lots of meditation. Trying to have a positive outlook on life. Yes all is crumbling but it'll be ok. It usually gets better. There's a thing in DBT called radical acceptance. It's pretty nifty. Yeah the situation sucks ***, but I accept it. Why spend time wallowing in misery or being angry about something. There's blips here and there when I get really down but it changes.

And no my IQ isn't between 88-96. Sometimes it helps to just be positive.

Like right now I'm prepping for a medical procedure tonight. At least I have a phone I can look at the internet on while in the bathroom and not have to read the back of the clorox cleaner bottle for the 1000th time.

Yep that's what I'm prepping for. Ha. I'm so sick of jello. If you're using sure prep it tastes like salt water with a hint of grape.

Back to the original question - yes, I'm relatively happy. My secret? ECT. I just had a treatment on Friday the 31st of August.

I have heard of this one dude in our neighborhood that had that.
one or two days after treatment he was good to go, for a while. Till he needed it again
That is hardcore, bro. Scary stuff to me.
You've got more testicular fortitude than me!

Yeah, my good mood lasts only about three weeks. After that I generally start to drop into depression. Consequently, I have ECT every four weeks pretty consistently. It's not as barbaric as it used to be.

Yes, right now I am. IP a year ago at the end of this month. Med change made a HUGE, difference. Took a couple months for things to settle in but I've been doing good except for a couple blips since the beginning of this year.

I'm in-between and pretty happy to be there. My mood is not normal and I'm having some hallucinations so I can't say I'm exactly happy but I'm grateful to not be in a miserable situation and to have fairly stable meds. Therapy also helps a great deal.

I am happy for awhile tonight!
Took my mom out for her birthday. Had spent part of the afternoon with the dentist. Have been very distracted this evening, which helps!

Life is pretty s***** atm, so it must be the meds, lol.
(Which I have been slightly messing with. WTH is wrong with me??!! )

Staying busy helps some too.

Not particularly miserable anyway. Happy would be pushing it.

I am pretty happy. It took a lot of med tweaks to get here though.

I am glad you have survived the "tweaks" and are doing well! Great news! Gives some of us some additional hope!

I'm not miserable. Coping mechanisms:

Stay away from alcohol
Exercise
Journal
Make a list of things that are going well in my life.
Make a list of things I need to keep focused on.
Spend time with loved ones and friends.

That’s smart! Sometimes happiness doesn’t just “happen” out of nowhere; you have to give it the right environment.

Can't say that I'm happy. Some days are better than others (when I'm better able to forget what I don't like in my life). I think I'm my happiest when I feel needed and valuable at work.

Since I last answered your post:
I have learned to let go of things.
I also have a chance (finally!) Of having someone touch me in an impure fashion.
(It's been almost a year)
The next forty eight hours are gonna be a rocket roller coaster ride!
I'ma go get some rest....
