Not having a routine is causing me to lay in bed for excessive hours again. I just don’t know what to do and I’m getting low. I’m just tired of being bipolar it honestly has ruined my life....

I've been spending time resting, too, due to exhaustion.
It gets very depressing. Very isolating.

I hear you.

My depression is coming back too. I think what I'm going to do and what you could do is make a schedule for 3 or 4 hrs a day and stick to it, even if you don't work. It has helped me in the past. Schedule "Read a book" "play a video game" "go for a walk." Schedule enjoyable stuff and you will still feel like you accomplished something.

Yeah I’ve been told to do this so many times. I decided to hop back on indeed and job search. I need a job to give me a structured routine.

I also think routines tend to help. Are you up to trying to keep a routine, even part of the day?

Bewise has some great suggestions.

Can you do things you find fun?

See I have that lack of interest symptom from my meds. Working out used to be a huge go to hobby but I think the lithium is destroying my joints so that prevents me from being able to weight lift

How depressing for you! It's a major loss!

I used to be an avid athlete. Between the medications and the illnesses, I just cannot do it anymore.

I know exactly how you feel. I’m gonna talk to my pdoc about the lithium to see if he can try something else. I have tried cardio a few times but struggle to do even that smh.

I think considering an alternative may be helpful.
It's important to be able to work out if one wishes to do so.
I hope you can find other pastimes you enjoy, too.

Yeah. I'm afraid I'm sinking into a depression, too. I feel like I cannot face another autumn of this. I'm worn out.

I am so sorry you are low. I'm there myself a lot these days. Not really sure. I'm either depressed or mixed at any rate.

I do agree it's a good idea to talk to your pdoc if you feel a medication is harming your life and not helping to make it better. There is no shortage of meds to try. When will you be able to talk with your pdoc about it?

—-you’re right, a routine helps so much. For me, vigorous exercise helps the most. I never found exercise I actually enjoyed until water aerobics- I just love it. The instructors are very different , so I tried various locations of LA Fitness here until I found an instructor who does a really fast routine to music. When I find myself getting depressed I go 6 days a week. Works like a charm.

—so here I’m adding something. Try volunteer work. Be aware that since many now know it’s a good way to build a resume, even that can be competitive, but some people build a whole new life through volunteering.
I don’t know how many LA fitness branches in northern cities have pools, but water aerobics doesn’t stress the joints like many forms of exercise. I too have minor balance problems and it makes no difference in the water. Some instructors do a really easy program. It’s so hot at all hours in Phoenix in the summer that it’s really a good choice.
