I bring a lot of compassion. With what I’ve been through I understand a lot more.

I have a wicked sense of humor. I also have a laugh that a lot of people think is lovely and they laugh along.

I have a lot of drive, especially on the upswings. I get a lot done.

I’m my husband’s best friend and fellow problem solver, so we get a lot done as a team.

I’m very creative with art and music (though it’s usually just my husband and I).

I usually listen well mostly because I have to or else my mind wanders off.

I’m sure there’s more but I’m tired.

My T and I talk about it pretty often especially when I am down. He has been telling me for years I bring “ color” into my relationship with my husband or friends.

I will say I have a hell of a sarcastic humor and could be a stand up comedian. According to loads of people.

I really TRY to remember things will indeed improve.

You ? Goooooooooo!

I think it can be difficult to hear other people's takes on what someone with BP brings to a relationship with anyone. But it takes away from the challenges that the individual with the disorder faces. Patience and a supportive home base can be really important in combating the struggles the disorder brings. I know that for me, knowing that my support system is stably behind me brings me hope that I can get better. Some days though, not so easy...
