I am thankful for the surgeons who were willing to take a chance on helping a family member..

Although she was not expected to live even a week without surgery, some cardiac surgeons would not risk doing surgery. It was their opinion she would not make it through surgery. Either way, with or without surgery, they did not expect her to live.

The only way to try to help her was to fully inform her of all risks and to do the surgery with her informed consent., which was exactly what was done at this other hospital. I am graeful to the surgeons who were willing to honor her wishes and were willing to take the risk in hopes of helping her.

It's wonderful that so many of us are fortunate enough to have a place to call home (including apartments, etc.)

I have, to my knowledge, met/interacted with only one person on PC who was homeless and living in a shelter. I believe even just one is one too many. I do think the percentage of of homeless members could be much higher in our PC family. I am grateful the percentage appears to be low.

I am grateful for the comfort offered to me by a very old, super soft, somewhat faded flannel shirt!
I realize this may seem trivial; yet, it means a lot to me on this very cold day!

I am grateful for the teachers at my son's school. They offer love, attention, patience and knowledge. We have been fortunate enough to have one of our preschool teachers teach both of my sons. She is incredibly kind and creative. She gave my youngest extra care this time last year when I was sick after he told her I was sick and in the hospital because my brain was broken. She welcomed me with a hug when I got out and saw her again. It's the little things that make such a difference.

I’ve needed a coat and a raincoat badly. My mom has been buying pricey coats and jackets at clearance sales for pennies on the dollar for awhile now for my brother who can’t shop for himself. He never wears them so she was going to give them away to Goodwill. Most still had the price tag on them and she asked me to look through them.

They are slightly big but you can’t tell they are men’s (I wouldn’t care if you could) and what a haul! I now have a raincoat, a coat, a suede jacket, a hooded jacket and a soft vest. I’m very grateful and tickled pink!
