Good news is that my shoulder is almost fully recovered, and my hip is recovering much slower. My physical check up with my GP, and another specialist, show me head to toe I am in great physical shape. It just the hip left. Although I still do have Fibromyalgia so I am not as active as usual, but even that has eased up significantly this year. This is encouraging. Despite this I live in fear I will overdo it and end up bedridden again. Moving slowly is not in my personality so I am now having to live slower. Still I am one of the lucky ones. I eventually was able to get out of bed, food shop, and run errands, or, even have fun. Many others with Fibromyalgia cannot do that.

My foot pain is back. Argh! I did a lot of cleaning yesterday and did it all barefoot. That was dumb. The down stairs of my home is tile and hardwood and the hard surfaces seem to trigger the nerve pain. I have some extra comfy shoes on today.

I decided to stay active anyway by using the chair workouts I posted a while back. I did a cardio boxing workout and then a seated yoga flow. I feel better now and I rested my injury the entire time

Hugs to all and well wishes for improved physical health.

Hi! Sorry about your injury. Foot injuries can be so painful.

I am so glad you have mentioned the chair exercises!
I used to do them with a group of people as a warm-up for some exercises without the chair. The chair exercises can be quite a workout, much more than people often imagine.

My rheumy does cardio boxing throughout her work day. She has two bracelets on which measure her... whatevers. Lol! It is just fine to do it without any gadget!

I need to do some of these exercises in order to have done my homework by Friday.

Fern, is it okay with you if I bring those links into the present part of the thread?

I'd better get at it!

Thanks again, Fern!

Of course! You're always welcome to post anything you like

Cardio boxing or kickboxing has been a favorite of mine for years. The moves engage your core pretty much the entire time and it helps me process any pent up frustration I have going on.

I needed a few new workouts to try anyway. Speaking of, if anyone has links to workouts they like please share them. It helps to keep trying new things and using our bodies in new ways. I'll share anything I come across.

Ack!!! Sorry your foot pain is back

I have a pair of the off brand dreaded Crocs. I’d never wear them in public but they were 1.99 lol

I bought them last year mainly for something to slide on to take the dogs out. But I no longer clean barefoot because of the pain that follows. I also have hard wood floors.

I wish I had your determination to keep doing your work outs

I think I did more then cause a hematoma in the shower fall as it’s quite painful to walk. Debating about calling the doctor. I’ll give it a day or two.

I feel you on the Crocs. My entire family wears them the same way I know better than to clean without shoes, but I was so focused I forgot. I rolled around in a pair of flip flops today that have extra cushion at the balls of the feet. That helped take pressure off the angry nerves. I should be back to good in a day or two. I don't know a lot about the condition. I'm hoping it isn't degenerative.

What if we did a swap? I'll take some of your energy and determination for cleaning and I'll send you a package of exercise fuel. Oh and some magical cookies of course!

I ran across this pain relief meditation today. I decided to check it out to see if it would assist with my foot pain. I appreciated the focus on acceptance. I feel like sometimes I get too focused on trying to change things that I forget that change begins with acceptance of your current circumstances.

It is less than 15 min long. Give this workout for your mind a shot today if you're interested.

This is a time when I truly loathe my internet ! We have no choice but satellite and it’s basically almost as slow as dial up and we have a data limit , OMG I know!!!! What in the hell ??? Once we hit our big fat 5gb for the entire month it gets even slower if that’s even possible

15 years ago when we moved to the middle of no where we thought “ well things will change and we will have unlimited data again .... Nope , not yet

Maybe one day ~

I really have difficulty understanding how my weight works. Lately, I have felt trimmer, think I look trimmer, and am fitting into jeans that I haven't fit into for about 2 years. Last time I weighed myself, I was almost 3 lbs down. Now today, feeling even trimmer, I am back up to my usual these past years. I certainly haven't built up any muscle mass. It's almost as if lead in my bones comes and goes. I know that if I follow a formal diet where I track everything and keep calories/fat under a certain amount, I will lose weight, but it's just so strange.

Oh no! My internet is wonky sometimes too. Luckily my phone carrier is reliable. I know that must be so frustrating! You were the first person to come to mind when I heard this. It was perfectly in line with some discussions we had a while back. I'm bummed!

I am with you on this. It is a strange phenomena. I have often wondered if it is related to the water in our bodies. Like sometimes I am well hydrated and do not feel bloated and my clothes fit great, but my weight is higher. Other times I weigh less and feel like I'm about to pop the button on my pants.

I'm planning on starting a new exercise program in January. It's a group class with a support group atmosphere. It's for women 50 to 150 lbs overweight; yay, I get to be on the lighter end of the spectrum. We will go to an exercise class once a week and have at home exercise plans 3 days per week. There will also be discussion on nutrition and a healthy mindset. We will be tracking our progress. In addition to the class and at home exercises, we will have a facebook group so we can celebrate our successes and get support when we are struggling. I'm really looking forward to it.

Im eating healthier. I really need to lose weight, but it's hard being on Zyprexa. But I'm eating more fruits and vegetables. I'm kinda following weight watchers. My sister got me the book. I don't go to the meetings, I cant afford it. But it's a guidline.

I can't exercise because of my back. But I'm doing the best I can with eating healthier.

I’m just gonna throw this out there... because of dealing with an ED from a very young age, I stumbled across something interesting.. our body’s will hang on to calories more if it’s cold , like a Storm front blowing through. Our body’s use extra calories to keep us warm. So it makes sense biologically.. the advice was to take carbs totally off the menu for 4-5 days and it restarts the weight loss.

I have found this to be true personally Maybe it’s all hoohaa but maybe worth a shot

Fern knows lots of exercises that can be done sitting on your couch. Just respond on this thread and I’m sure she will share them with you, might be something you could benefit from
