For those of you who have occasionally been psychotic, do you ever become depressed at about or at the same time?
Just wondering, as I have been dealing with this psychosis stuff for quite awhile, but in the last few days, my daytime hours have really had some experiences quite similar to my old, big-time depression. So, still intermittently psychotic but also fairly depressed right now. Have others ever had this type of thing? It's been pretty hard to get through my days lately.

I've been depressed and psychotic at the same time. Not fun. I'm sorry you've been struggling so much lately and I hope you get a break from all this soon

I actually get most of my psychosis while depressed. One time I was so depressed that I was convinced my brain had split in two with one half actively trying to kill me and the other half desperate to stay alive. The bad half forced me to look up suicide methods, like aggressively research them. But the good half kept me chained to my couch so I couldn’t go get the necessary supplies. It was scary as hell.

Yes while its neither a full psychosis or a full depression I felt pretty depressed after finding out my mom had stage four cancer had a few hallucinations and same thing upon finding my sister had stage four like a couple years later....even had a visual. Wouldn’t say I was blatantly psychotic but just a few blips hallucination wise and no delusions.

I was told I was psychotic during two severe depressions. The psychosis led to hospitalizations. I don't remember them. I'm unsure if I ever did.
I have most often had psychosis during manias, especially manias with mixed features. I remember a little bit of that time. Other details were lost. Some minor details were shared with me. I read a little in hospital records, but many records are vague. Some were clearly traumatic, which likely contributed to the amnesia. I can't relate when people write that they are "currently" psychotic. I can relate to some insight when psychosis comes and goes within short periods, but not while it's happening. |

I get psychosis no matter what, it seems. But yeah, I definitely get depressed with psychosis here. It's pretty frustrating when that happens for me, so I feel for you.

I seldom lose my memory function while manic and psychotic, either. It has happened, but rarely. I'm almost always aware of psychotic perceptions, which is why I struggle with them. (What if this is real and not a psychotic symptom? How do I know I'm not seeing/feeling/hearing something that is normal, but that most people just don't experience or are not aware of? And on and on and on.)
