Well, the elementary school my sons attended has burnt. Friends are saying things look grim but I don't know exactly what they're referring to, what news sources they're using. I have heard via text from the county office of emergency services that both sides of the valley are burning.

Yeah, just north of San Francisco Bay. The Napa Valley is probably the stuffiest wine producing region of the state. With the fires going right now there's not going to be much of a harvest this year. ...and with everything burnt the tourists will have no reason to come visit. Of course, why am I surprised, it's 2020.

Daonnachd, believe me, I am hoping and praying so hard for you, that your home does not burn and that you do not lose anything around it or inside of it. I'm so sorry to hear about your son's school. My God.

Yes, another huge wildfire. Harsh winds and heat that feels like being smothered. I am very lucky to be in a town surrounded by agricultural fields, so it is highly unlikely they will catch fire. Daonnachd and I are on opposite sides of a narrow mountain range.

But we have the smoke again. This time I'm feeling downright sick from the air. I'm a little bit concerned, it's almost difficult to breathe properly. I have turned my a/c to very cold, which seems to help.

Please pray/send thoughts/mental images of water to this region of California. We're desperate, quite honestly.

Thank you, Beth, for your thoughts.

I just realised I forgot my mother's ashes at home.

My anxiety has sucked all day and I’m just trying to get some things straightened out with the surgery and everyone is telling me it will be ok but I’m just jumping to a lot of different conclusions as usual. And I have some racing thoughts as well and irritability and I can’t really concentrate on anything. My depression and sleep are off so I don’t know if I’m having a mixed episode or if things just really do suck right now.

But my mood still feels stable despite the stressors of the day. (Have I told you where we're staying?)
Sending love I hope there are able to get that fire under control and save your home

I am assuming it's related, but also took some Alkaseltzer in case it was digestive system distress. Again, it is all slightly better during the day, but always worst when I wake up after being in bed for hours. All on my right side (neck, shoulder, upper to middle back, arm down to elbow). Sometimes when I move my neck, I hear a crack. Maybe in the end I will need a chiropractor????? Only if my GP says that is appropriate.
I glad you called your GP Hopefully nothing major has happened and you will recover quickly.

N3 had to go to the credit union today so I drove him. He bought me lunch/dinner. I'm thinking that after I'm finally moved, I will get my mom and her husband some flowers or a plant. (Not that my mom doesn't have a plethora of plants already!) Maybe just flowers.

@childofchaos831 , glad to see you around! Keep posting.

I've done zero as to moving today. Zero. I feel like there is so much to do yet nothing to do. It's odds and ends, but it's not. Nobody has contacted me today- not about when I can pay and sign the lease, nor about the inspection. I'm getting anxious as its Monday already!

Our friend passed away this morning. We took care of the funeral arrangements because his wife was in rough shape, understandably.

He left on his own terms and passed away peacefully in his sleep.

The funeral is on Wednesday.

I've always found that the most challenging part of moving is the end, the "odds and ends, but not" stage. The great thing is that when you've completed that stage, you know you truly are done with the hardest work of packing up.

If you don't hear from anyone by tomorrow morning, will you call them?
