Can you read a good book? That always takes me out of the world for an hour or two- gets my mind off everything else.

I get lost in movies, or try to meditate. There's a channel on cable here called POP that has been showing half-day marathons of the early 1990s TV show called ER. That one takes me back to the end of high school and better days.
What about journaling? I'm starting a journal soon per my therapist's urgings. Starting with just things I'm grateful for. |

You'll have to determine the activities that you find pleasure/relaxation doing. For me, it is usually baking. I love sweets and love cooking/baking, so that's one of mine. Also, activities that involve mindfulness can be great. The cooking/baking is such an example, but I also like flower arranging, observing nature, dancing/listening to music, and writing. Even surfing the internet can be a great source of pleasure for me. I follow thoughts and research things of interest. Learning new things is very rewarding!

For surviving the crap days I like to do something physical like walking or exercising. I also like to try to be creative, like painting or writing, or lose myself in a book or a movie. I also tend to drink, but I don’t recommend it

For me, watching movies helps. In fact, I'm going to start watching movies with ear buds in so I don't hear ambient distraction noises.

I go out for a walk weather permitting and lose myself in music. Also if I am down about a particular part of my life I look up YouTube videos to get ideas on how to improve that area. Examples: health, finance, career etc

I find journaling helpful, when I put my thoughts, worries and concerns on paper it kind clears my mind. Walking seems to help with boredom and reading a book distracts me from myself. I hope you get some ideas that work for you. This forum is really helpful to me. Lots of luck
