Thanks for the new thread.

I started Trileptal and now I cannot sleep. I am just not tired, which frustrates me. I have heard some people say it makes them sleepy, but it isn't making me sleepy at all. I wish I could sleep because it is almost 2am and I keep tossing and turning.

I toss and turn too and my brain won't quiet down with thoughts of what I need to do tomorrow.

I have a terrible habit of falling asleep on the sofa late at night, then waking up and feeling refreshed enough to carry on for another hour or so. Then I sleep till noon.

Thank you, Christina, for the new clubhouse! It's really nice. Well, for an update, these days I seem to be averaging 2 to 3 hours of sleep a night. Once in a while a little more. But at least I'm not sleepless, like you are, Christina, so much of the time. I'm wishing you better sleep! And I wish you all sweet dreams!

Sorry to hear that, Moose. Do you think your mood is up because of the racing thoughts?

I woke up every hour or so because I just cannot sleep with Trileptal. People say it makes them drowsy, but that is definitely not the case for me. But yeah, I gave up on sleeping at 4am.

Moose isnt your long naps during the day playing into this kinda of chronic inability to sleep over all at night???? I know you are wanting to cut your Seroquil out and that opens a can of worms of needing to instead do a slow taper off of or yes Insomnia is going bite you in the back side..

What prompts your napping daily? Do you just get so tired you can not keep your eyes open? or do you sleep when you are watching tv or reading something? If you are in bed and comfy then yes a nap is likely to happen, So maybe get up in the am and make your bed and do not go back to it???? You can read of watch TV in your living room instead.

I honesty think you would benefit greatly if you stopped any and all napping and do a slow taper off Seroquil..

Just a thought

I have a VERY strong feeling that I won't be able to sleep tonight. I was finally getting sort of drowsy about an hour ago, but then I took my Trileptal, so now I am not tired anymore. I think it is way too activating.

Oh well. The violent abuser downstairs is smoking pot and drinking a lot of booze anyways. I hear him yelling and slurring his speech (along with other people doing it too), and when I went downstairs earlier to pick up some packages, all I could smell was pot. I cannot sleep with their obnoxious behavior. But he sounds like a woman beater/abuser, so I want to avoid pissing him off. It is only a matter of time before he starts throwing things again.

I don't care if you do pot or booze, but please don't smoke excessive amounts while drinking excessive amounts. That isn't a good mixture for anybody.

Had another weird dream. Something about babies and gothic dark churches. The baby wasn't who it was supposed to be one of the nuns had switched babies and this one wasn't Buddha. The real baby had an peaceful vibe that everyone could feel. It was a mystery and I was looking for the real baby.

I've been watching my tablet downstairs on the couch- surfing here and chatting. I have been staying out of bed. But today I was up till 3 a.m. and got up around noon so I did get enough sleep but it was too late to wake up so we will see about tonight. Been walking every day for the most part and that really helps the sleep. The other day I was watching youtube on my tablet on the couch and just crashed but I havent been going to my bed to sleep. This has probably more to do with getting up at 530 than anything else. If I can find my pill cutter I can cut the halves into quarters. Its around somewhere....

Had a really detailed dream last night. Brought an old Victorian house filled with furniture and toys. Had a long fiberglass bronzy brown tub/boat that I decided to take a bath in. I was in an old Timy woman's full body swimming suit and my hair was way longer that it's ever gotten. I was swishing around my head and then added water to make it hotter but it was cold. So I had to let out almost all the water to get a hot tub of water, then I took a nap. When I woke up I was going though thee furniture and toys with my daughter deciding which ones to sell. The windows were those big oversized ones and a hook rested next to the Windows so you could open the top part of them and the floors were gorgeous wooden floors. The house was awesome.

Can't sleep between the guy snoring above me (yep, the dude probably needs a CPAP because snoring that loud is bad) and the drunk below me. I am also not tired, though, to be fair.

I really want Trileptal to work, but who knows at this point. If it keeps making me stay awake, I will have to find some other med.

Oh well. I am going to try forcing myself to sleep. Maybe I will get lucky... but it is already past 11... I suppose I can take a k-pin.

I don't seem to sleep more than 2 hours at a time. Sometimes 1/2 an hour less or more. So I'm making mistakes quite often. Always correcting simple mistakes, due to a tired mind. It's so frustrating. Sometimes I cry.

Moose, i don't have problems with racing thoughts any more but since before I could remember my brain refuses to shut down on its own. I have to role play things in my head to quiet it down enough. when I was a kid I used to take trips to the moon or explore the jungle. I'd slowly make my own path, cutting vines out of my way with my machete. Every so often I'd take a drink of cool water from my canteen. When I'd finally discover the hidden ruins I'd been searching for I'd pick my way through the buildings. It may sound weird but it really works.

I am getting Micro burst of sleep. I was watching a episode of ER and kept missing parts , I know ER very well, So I know that I am losing some time... its only at most 10 mins, so I dont think Im disassociating just Micro burst..

I will have to load myself to the gills with caffeine tomorrow before I go out, cant Micro burst while driving . Eeeeeek ! unless I can get some sleep tonight. I might just have to splurge and get an iced coffee tomorrow !

Hows everyone doing on getting sleep lately???

I had to do a fasting blood test and I made the appointment for 1pm, the same time I dropped mum off and spurged afterwards with a chai! Go ahead and treat yourself, you deserve it as much as you need it!

No sleep as expected , But Im loading Caffeine layer after layer.. I have to run to the post office , then a telephone session with my T then gotta pick up medication and pick up a few food items.

Honestly the worse part of all this is I have to put on street clothes.. I live in baggy old Tshirts and yoga type shorts around the house, So wearing shoes and a bra is soooo damn much effort just to put on ... Time for more Caffeine pills.

Wow. I had a couple days where the new stomach med caused insomnia. Yeah that was a listed side effect that I ignored. So last night I didn't take the med and finally got some sleep. Weird mixed up dreams about an election. The GOP was represented by over muscled Bulls. There was like a caucus going on and the Bulls hired motercycle gangs to stand in for them. Then when they won the turned into Bulls and chased the females into barns. One lady folded herself into a pail and hauled herself to the ceiling by pulling on a rope. Weird and quite violent but I did get some sleep.
