I see you visiting @downandlonely. How are you these days?

I took my bag of old meds to the police station and they were very friendly. Glad to have that done.

David told me about a park in town, it's quite secluded and absolutely so quaint. There is a tennis court there, so I'm going to skate in a bit (on the smooth tennis court). This day is gorgeous, perfect weather, beautiful, like angels have given it.

I remembered to order Halloween candy to put in a bowl for any trick-or-treaters who might come by, and for neighbors. The candy is creepy-green Snicker's bars I don't want to keep opening the front door for fear a cat will escape, so I'll just set the bowl out.

We got snack sized animal crackers to hand out. This year will be the warmest Halloween in decades. Up to a high of 63F for the day, about 55F around treat or treat time. I figure animal crackers are a nice change and still quite a nice treat. I’ll be wearing cat ears. I don’t have to worry about Sir bolting out the door. He disappears when outside doors are opened. He’s fine in the car and in his crate but doesn’t like “ outside”

Yeah I googled it and it says 3 months. So then how does a person prevent getting reinfected. I guess I'll just be wearing my mask. I have started again anyways besides at the dentist on Thursday. My trip out of town next week is concerning me since we'll be eating out a few times and staying at a hotel. But its like I can't live in fear either.

Yum @Nammu, Animal Crackers are so good. They used to give me those boxes of them when I was a little girl. Back then, each box had a string you could hold. They've probably done away with the strong ages ago, though.

Wheeee! I went to that darling little park and had a fabulous skate! Oh, it just feels so liberating to have wheels on my feet. I can skate away from and skate toward, all at once.

Here I am awake at almost 1 a.m. Last evening I thought my throat was feeling bad but only when I swallowed and only in the back of my throat. Now I just woke up and it hurts all the time and is worse when I swallow and worse than last evening. I don't have a fever- or at least a very high one. It was 99.7 last night and just now when I took it it was 99.1. High for a basal body temp- your temp when you first wake up. Mine usually runs in the low 97s . I guess this means I have to cancel my plans for tomorrow.

I was really surprised tonight. The county facebook page shows about 20 law enforcement officers (from several counties) who completed training in dealing with mental health issues and talking to people instead of getting angry or violent.

I'm shocked because I live in an extremely rural area and there is a general lack of funding for things and I never dreamed they'd do this. It's probably a grant but even so someone had to take the time to write the grant and get it approved.

I'm proud of my little county and the "good 'ole boys" in the sheriffs department.

Couldn’t sleep tonight. Went to bed at the usual time but failed to settle. Almost drifted off around 2am, but no. Now it’s 5 am and I’ve given up on laying in the dark tossing and turning. Watching an absurd show called Thunderbirds. It’s puppets with Huge eyebrows.

Got to go grocery shopping this morning. It’s the last day of the sale. 50% off cereal. I don’t eat it but mum does. She goes though a ton of it. 50% off is huge, I’m hoping there’s some left. If I go early I have the best chance. Also have a coupon for .50 cents off per gallon of gas. That’s great.

I slept fine last night. I woke up at 3:15 which is a fine time for me to wake up. I really had to use the bathroom. I sat up and got monster lower stomach cramps. I just feel achy and headachy and tired and kind of anxious. I did find a giant spider in my room after I had taken a shower. Its lower half is brown. So I'm not sure if its a brown recluse. I know we get those here. I hope he didn't bite me. I got a good picture before stepping on him. I hope he wasn't a she and there arent others in my room. I've seen big spiders in the garage but my mom doesnt believe me because she has "never seen them." Herself. Partially why I took the picture. Anyways today I just feel blah.

I hate spiders. We have the “worlds deadliest” spider here - the funnel web spider and they scare the crap out of me. I don’t think they’ve killed any humans for a long time (or maybe 1 recently) because of the anti venom but ALL spiders freak me out - and we have so many types. I wouldn’t have even been able to take a photo of it they freak me out that much! Glad you were able to get rid of it and hope you don’t have any more!

Beyondtherainbow- That's great about the training. I wish they would do something like that here.

Other than the current page I'm not even going to attempt to catch up on the past month. Sorry. I'm still recovering and just don't have the capacity right now (but hugs of course to all )

Add me to the I hate spiders crowd! They scurry away- or TOWARD you!!- with all those legs and their eyes are ugly and their fangs are.... Ewwww! They jump and drop down on a string. Some say they can "fly" because they blow in the wind on lines of silk.

Ugggh. Man, I hate having a sore throat. I don't know about everybody, but I can be sick with a sore throat, a cold, or whatever and not run a temperature. In fact, sometimes my temperature will drop below normal when I'm sick.

I missed something. What are your tomorrow plans?

I adore spiders, and have since I read (and cried over) Charlotte's Web when I was a little girl. I still have the very book I read back then. Spiders do many important functions that benefit our environment. I have owned 2 tarantulas, Daisy and Vivienne. They were gentle and fascinating. They are fastidious about keeping their cages clean and tidy.

The only spider I will kill because they are very dangerous is a black widow. Supposedly, we have brown recluse here but I have never in all my life seen one. There are no other poisonous spiders here.

Well my bathroom reno is finally done. It took 6 weeks because of a trip we took plus covid and other delays.

I have a toilet with a bidet on it. It's great!

I called my pdoc and asked to be put on gabapentin again. The Klonopin isn't enough to control my anxiety and it's making me more depressed.

I’m the same way, my temperature drops. When I was I’ll with sepsis I delayed going to the doctor because I didn’t have a fever. But for some people that’s how it goes. Because I didn’t know that I was very sick by the time I went to ER. I tend to hold off on going til I’m very sick. Too often I’ve been told it’s nothing then when I go to ER. I need surgery! But I like the doctors where I’m at now, I don’t know if it’s that their more enlightened or if it’s the state or my age but they listen.

I am going to clean my coffeemaker today, the vinegar method. I'm embarrassed to admit how long it's been since I cleaned the thing. It's a wonder I haven't died from drinking toxic coffee.

I hope to call my sister, the one who's developing dementia, although she and my BIL may be at a birthday party for my great-niece today. I miss my sister terribly and need to get off my azz and drive to Sacramento to visit her. Well, and I need the darn gas money to make the trip. It would take just about $120 to fill my old SUV and that money just plain ain't here.

But today, my main focus is skating! I do believe I'll get some disco going and practice dance moves here in my apartment. Maybe skate some outside on the corridor. I also will get my little table decorated so it's ready to put outside tomorrow evening with the bowl of green Snicker's bars. Almost everybody in this apartment complex has decorated this year, so I expect some t-or-t'ers.

Once I read that if a person's temperature drops when they're sick it means their immune system isn't kicking in.

I hear you...I have to be really bad off before I'll go for medical help.

Yay, it's all finished! A bidet is such a nice feature to have.

Best of luck with the Gabapentin. It has been a great help with anxiety for me.

Went to the store today, it’s the last day of half off the cereal. Mum eats that every morning. I was hoping they’d have some left and they had just restocked it so I had plenty to choose from. Got her 6 family sized boxes. That should last her a few months. Bought enough other stuff to get my .50 cents per gallon off gas. I have to drive. To Rochester this week to return pants so that will help.

The neighbors came over today, they can’t find anymore yard work to do in their yard so they offered to do ours. So we have green grass again! The ankle high piles of dull leaves are gone. They have a fire pit they burn them in. The neighbors on the other side did their lawn today too so the yards are looking nice. Both of them are burning leaves so it smells like fall out there. So often we have snow for Halloween so this weather is very nice.

We went out of town for a fall festival,

St. franciseville about 2 hours from our home.
we ended up getting a room at a hotel holiday inn express.

We had reservations for 2 for the 8;30 pm haunted house tour.

WE enjoyed ourselves. before the tour we went to
dinner at this pub.
had drinks and good seafood for dinner. shared some

char broiled oysters.
yummy.
I had a seafood salad and jeff had the red fish.

both were delicious.

The haunted tour was good except the docent was

new as we were her 4th tour. she spoke really fast

and got out of breath many times.
The house was lovely.
Our hotel room was about a 20 minute drive going

south so the next day today we were able to pick up

an interstate so no more twisty curvey roads like on the way there.
We had some breakfast at the hotel included scrambled
eggs with sausage pattie that I put sausage gravy on
both., a yogurt and coffee. perfect breakfast but have to

say that I am a bit peckish.
husband is busy getting things ready for the haunting tomorrow.

It is fun!
