Do any of you live in an apartment and have an ESA? I'm sure states differ but it seems like all it takes is a letter from my pdoc and that gets my cat into any apartment, regardless of pet policies. Is that right?

I'm currently in a place owned by my mom so no worries but someday that won't be an option and I'm just curious about the future.

Thanks!

We do. One of our cats is marked down as my ESA (though our other one is more of one than he is... lol). For me my therapist wrote the letter, signed it, and my psychiatrist also signed it. Our apartment allows two cats (or one dog), but I'm pretty sure you can bring your ESA to places that don't allow pets.

My service dog is marked as an esa. We have a letter from the Dr. And that's it.

I tried to get Ariel as a ESA but both my primary dr and my psych nurse practitioner refused to write a letter and told me to contact the other.

I saw this post on FB or maybe here, of this guy in the US who had an emotional support alligator and everyone was okay with that... But all the best🙏

*mind you I'm only assuming he lived in an apartment

No alligators for me! Just a cat that doesn't eat small mammals or children

Yes my cat is an ESA. My pdoc wrote the letter. Being an ESA, I don’t have to pay the pet deposit.
