I see my GP on wednesday.
I saw her approximately 3 weeks ago with mood swings, that she related to diet. Whch despite reducing my sugar intake, has not gone. Even during one crash my mum made me eat chocolate which did not pull me back up again. At the moment I am cycling 3 or 4 times a day and usually crashing very badly after a decent mood period. I know after I see my GP it will then be some time before I can see a psychiatrist. BUT I feel like I need help now as I don't feel I can cope with these mood swings for much longer, and their is no one I can turn to help me now as I am at my mum's and not my own place. |

Until you get in to see a psychiatrist there are a few things you can do on your own.
1. Set a consistant quiet/sleep time. Just go in your room at the same time each night with the lights off. Sleep if you can otherwise just chill in the dark quiet room. 2. Get up at the same time every day. This will also help with falling asleep. 3. Excersize. If you don't already do this just go out for a walk three days a week and work up to 5-7 days a week. It doesn't have to be a long walk. 15-20 minutes is a good start. 4. Healthy eating. It sounds like you are already working on this one so just do what your doctor suggested. 5. Read about mental health. The book I like that I keep recommending is "Why am I still depressed?" Which is about different types of Bipolar illness. |
