WELCOME TO PC! i don't believe i can answer your question unless i also suggested a T. Is there aqy reason you prefer not to go to a t? in my journey of wellness it is apparent that by going to a T my progress was hastened by this help.
if you cannot afford a t then perhaps you could qualify for help in your state by other means.
sorry you are experiencing this disturbance and i hope you can find a solution.

Hello 2many4me, it's nice to meet you,Welcome to psych central. I don't have the answers that you seek, have you tried our bipolar forum? There are many here that have been diagnosed bipolar so they may have some suggestions for you.
If you have any questions feel free to private message any community liaison or moderator, here is a link to the community team list.

Sorry I can't be more helpful, I don't really know that much about bipolar disorder.

There are some really cool Ts out there. I don't think just because someone has a degree in pych or social work, they are a good T. It's just that some pple with those degrees are already really cool people who are good at listening, unconditionally accepting of people, and have a good head on their shoulders.
Again, I say some. Not all.
But I think it's worth it to seek someone out. There are resourses here on this site.
There is also the medication route.
But basically, there is no easy answer or quick fix. Maybe not even a long fix.
Just keep hanging in there.
Not everybody is out to get you. I'm not.
When I feel all paranoid like that, I try to remember that most people are so caught up in their own drama, they don't have the energy or interest to "get you."

I too have the paranoid thoughts. Cognitive behavioral therapy works best for me, and I usually do not go to a therapist. I work on these things myself, and have been rather successful in changing many of my unhealthy thought patterns and beliefs. I do have an advantage, I am studying psychology, so I have more knowledge about the therapy methods an such than an everyday person. I would be more than happy to talk with you further (annhertel@gmail.com) and try to offer help and advice.

The key to the therapy, is that you must become stable first in order for it to really be effective. If you are in the midst of a manic or depressive episode, your mind is thinking irrationally and you chemicals are not balanced - rational thought is difficult and it is even more difficult for accurate introspection and reflection on your unhealthy thoughts patterns and behaviors.

Do you have a psychiatrist? Are you on medications such as a mood stabilizer?
