I dont know the last time I took my meds. But its hit me all of a sudden, and now i feel scared. I just want to be normal. I just want to have a normal life. |

gosh that sounds so much like me some years ago while struggling with alcoholism.(i've been sober for some time now) i kept saying i just want to be normal.
anyway, we all have challenges that are posed in our life. some of us have mental disorders/illnesses. unfortunately they don't go away all by themselves. many of us choose to take meds because it enables us to function more "normal"..whatever that really is. for instance if i don't take my meds i will go downhill into depression, mania, etc. so i choose to take my meds. if you are feeling scared about not taking your meds it's perhaps because you know they help you. you can always discuss this with your T or pdoc on the next visit or better yet schedule an early appt. to cover this in your session. meanwhile it might be wise to start your meds again...just in case they really are helping you. hope this helps you. ![]()

Thank you for your concern
I just got back from a session with my T, where I cried most of the way through. He was very understanding. He was concerned; he wanted to know if i needed to go to the hosp. I said no. I hate the hosp (who doesnt?) I will avoid that any way possible. Im still a bit teary, but im doing a little better. |

I hate it when I can't remember if I've taken my meds on a given day. I don't want to take em twice, but it's also not good to miss doses. I usually just wait til the next dose.
I used to have problems remembering in general, when I was taking meds twice a day, so I started using a pill box. Maybe that'll help. Hospitals are no fun, I can agree to that. But I would just say try to keep an eye on things and if it comes down to it, nipping it in the bud with a short hospital stay would be a lot better than letting things run out of control and having to do a long hospital stay. Glad to hear you are feeling a little bette though. |

As with radmaker3's suggestion of a pill box, I'd advise you to get a watch with multiple alarms/timers to help you remember to take your meds. Post it notes on your bathroom mirror or refridgerator can help too. I have to take meds 5 different times a day&I manage by using all of the methods I suggested. I haven't had any problems since 9/08 when I got the watch&it's made a big difference. Believe it or not-youcan find reasonably priced watches with these features at places like Target&K-Mart if you're low on funds.
