You know you're Borderline when u get up in the morning with high ambitions, make a nice big self-satisfying "to do list" that reflects your great creativity and awesome drive..have a few..cups of coffee...all the while ....developing this sinking feeling....thinking how unfair it is that just looking at and thinking about the list has to be so hard for you, much less completing it???? phft!!! when it is a breeze for others, hating them, become enraged at the past and present, become convinced you are a failure and go back to bed for fear of killing yourself over some stupid list!!

Thinking..she better NOT look better than me. So you drive by his work, see no one, and look her up on facebook instead!

Sounds good to me And if she is better looking he will need to SWEAR (repeatedly) that she isn't. In fact, you will type out a word document on just how ugly she is and have him sign it.

Absolutely, SophiaFlying! So, in order to avoid the deepest darkness, you do something that would look like suicidal ideation to someone else, but that is relief to you--and they get all excited about that and take over, when what you're trying to do is gain some control over the worthlessness you feel!

Now, that was a kind of dark one....and I want an antidote to that fast, so: you know you're borderline when fall apart looking for you glasses because you think the dog's carried them off into the yard--because they did that, like, two years ago when they were puppies--and you go to wash your face and look in the mirror, and there they are, on top of your head, where you put them because you were in the kitchen when you took them off and didn't want to leave them on the counter because you didn't want the dogs to jump up and get them--which they did with a cube of butter...also two years ago...........and...that was another dog, anyway....
Thanks for this!

Your friend of ten years says she doesn't like your new haircut.

You decide the friendship has grown apart and you now realize that your friend is COMPLETELY insensitive and vow to never see her again.

(and hope all her hair falls out)
Thanks for this!

Im kinda confused about who they are and the highlighted part, but no biggie......I'll try to keep to a lighter theme. Im struggling a lot and not in a great place now, yet I wanted to contribute and this is all I could think of!!! Sorry!!

I'm so sorry you are having a bad time in your life. You DON'T need to keep it light at all. You can talk about your feelings and get support. This thread is open for anything!

Hugs sweetie

sensitive is good!

Also good is to be able to laugh at oneself, as we have been here. I couldn't have laughed a few years ago, but I can now.
And it feels SOOO good to know I'm not alone!

omg, I read this and I wonder how it is we are not writing for a sitcom or something, or writing books like Norah Ephron ("I Feel Bad About My Neck"). What a gift to be able to laugh at ourselves, even though we also remember the sheer torment of being in the moment, too.

We should write a book!

It can include cartoons with captions.

You know you're borderline when if you can't think of a joke IMMEDIATLY you get really, really quiet, maybe a little tear comes to your eye, and you think, "OK! I'll just go BUY a joke book!" but then you realize you'd have to get dressed , leave the house , and even getting dressed requires nine hundred steps that flash through your mind one after another, completely exhausting you to the point that you go to the PC arcade and just flip through game after game after game (you don't PLAY any of them), looking at all the high scores, thinking, jeez, I guess I don't belong here, either! So you get all set to bound away from the computer, but think, well, maybe I'll just look at the borderline forum one more time, and there's a new thread...and there's a joke there that makes you roflyao, and you're really, really glad that you belong here.
Thanks for this!

Oh, pshaw, clueless! We just want you to think that, because if you're sitting over in the corner, then we get more donuts! Of course, we'll feel sorry later. But you won't answer, the phone, won't call. Then we'll have to sneak over to your house...follow you around town...show up crouching down behind the cubicle at your work......
Oh...this is just not gonna turn out well! (now, it's your turn to call)
