Talking to my t because I am having a lot of SI urges today, and a ton of anxiety. She wants to know what the emotion is under the anxiety.

I don't know.

She said to look at a list of emotion names and pick something.

I cannot pick one. nothing seems to fit.

Why does there have to be an emotion I can name driving the anxiety? Can't I just have anxiety just because?

I'm SO tired of this....

Yes, it sucks arse.

Nothing worse than not being able to identify how you're feeling esp when it changes so rapidly and often.

I have had to learn the names of emotions....some of them I didn't even know existed, or what they were or that they were even an emotion. It takes time to learn them...the list is good, but it takes a while to understand what they all are, and until you do...it most likely will show up as anger, depression, and anxiety, because you don't know what emotion you're feeling. At least that's the way it is and was for me.

I feel you. I know how it feels to have SI thoughts and no reason behind them or to have anxiety with no reason behind it. It seems that practitioners do not understand that we can simply have these thoughts without some kind of catalyst behind it. I think that Ts and pdocs are always looking for some kind of reason for our feelings so that they have something to fix. This kind of situation, I am sure, makes them very uncomfortable in their ability to help you. Please feel better!
