Maybe I should put this in anxiety forum but I kinda bit more familiar with you guys and I know many of us Borderlines may have anxiety, panic attacks…

Kinda bit related to Miss thread the other day and her experience.

Right, I will cut to the chase…3 weddings between now and 7th April…absolutely petrified beyond belief. I have known about these impending events for ages and from that very first invite I was physically sick.

So, here my situation…clothes…things matching?can't stand when things don't match…very self conscious…I didn't binge yesterday but stomach so bloated due to IBS and some flab there too. Crikey, how do I explain this…we heading off tomorrow…the journey alone is going to be a killer because of my back and leg. Not happy with how I look in any of the dresses. For first two weddings it same group of people…I cannot describe how I feeling right now…so bloody self conscious…I feel everyone will look and not only see how I look but afraid they can see what is in my head. Some people tell me I like look beautiful but I think 'they should have gone to specsavers'…that is an advertisement slogan here!

Beautiful freak eh!

My hands are trembling, I feel nauseous, just want to vomit, want to harm. Hope it was ok to add that bit. I'm worried about everything and I mean everything!

Help me, I'm drowning in emotions here…panic is arriving…ok I need to take few breaths

Yes, you need to breathe
I don't know you, so have you learned breathing techniques?
And do you smoke?
Smoking causes anxiety, so if you smoke you should quit (yeah, like I'm going to follow my own advice there)

take some slow deep breathes...not jagged ones not shallow ones slow deep breathes...its going to be okay...if your feeling dizzy now from not breathing the deep breaths will help with this.

Okay so your going out to some weddings alone try to find one person you may know at these weddings and ask if you could hang out with them during this time or talk with someone and maybe they are just as awkward as you are at these events. talk about the weather talk about how you are feeling keep it short and sweet nothing over the top just something light and airy. take compliments in stride smile and say thank-you! even if its a fake smile and you don't really want to sluff them off. You can get through this I believe in you...

Quick reply because rushing to pack because we leaving soon…thanks greentires and greyclouds and mandrec thank you so much.

Yep, had awful panic attack yesterday…anxiety is overwhelming now but really trying my abdominal breathing. Don't smoke, never have, thankfully. I have enough vices as it is!

Again, thanks…appreciated faultguys.

greentires sorry, I never mentioned that I am going with partner…doesn't diminish the anxiety but yes you are right…it would be lot harder alone…so thank you for that.

I can relate to this SO MUCH. Nights before, days before events or social outings I'm meant to attend I freak out and think I'm going to look too bloated or fat, too pale, hair not done etc etc.

And then it goes to thinking about the people you'll see, meet.. what to talk to with them. If they'll ask you questions. Lol I'm not really much use here, but I hear ya. I hope it all goes well

Go early before the entire football team arrives. Say 'hi' to those you know, who is possibly hosting the event ..... Find time to stretch and walk around the facility, a breather.
Leave early if you must. (I always do.) Otherwise, I wouldn't go out at all.

Tapped to the top right of my wooden easel is a yellowing piece of paper with a treasured/measured quote. It says something about ... While we may be worried (tormented) what others think of the dress, my hair, my idea, my la-ti-da, in reality, they honestly could care less. They are more worried and occupied with themselves.

Take it moment by moment.. don't think about all of it at once, as everyone else said, breathe in a more controlled manner. distract yourself when you can and be proud and feel the victory with each event that you get past. Before you know it you'll be done with all of it and you can realize you're still ok
