I isolate so much of the time because I feel like people don't get me. I came out of my cave for a while but my emotional skin is so fine I feel every hurt more than I can even express. And when I'm ... I guess I'm just checking in to say I'm still here, sort of. Thanks to all who try to understand - all of you here. It's hard even to type these few words, I feel like I should be isolating completely and that I don't belong anywhere. I have asked to be referred to DBT but wasn't heard.. (I'm in the UK)

I'm really sorry my friend.

You belong here with us, even during the times when it doesn't feel like it, you still do.

I'm very proud of you for posting, seems your skin is thicker than you realized furry one!

Please remember that you can PM me at anytime, day or night.

I'm so sorry yr struggling right now. I'm glad you reached out to write today. Dbt really works. I did it for 3 years. I totally isolate too. Afraid to go out and face possible judgements. Do you isolate yet still feel lonely? I do. I can really relate to what you are saying. Just you posting helps us to help you. Don't lose hope. We're here for you!

Hi Fuzzy, I feel your pain. I stumbled upon DBT almost ten years ago. I picked up the Dialectical Behavioral Therapy Skills Workbook at a local bookstore. I had been looking for yet another book that would shed some light on my situation. The book is not a regular size book, it's almost like an 8"x11" book. I know Amazon carries the electronic and paper version. It might be worth your while to pick one up and start reading through the workbook.

That's hard. I'm trying not to isolate because I fear my severe depression will come back.

The sh*! that our brains somehow believe ~ freaking amazing!!

Honey, SO MANY people here at PC care deeply about you. That's no exaggeration, either. I know that it isn't quite the same as having hot flesh besides yours that cares...but we all understand and care, don't we?

DBT was a wonderful experience for me. It is really hard to imagine not ever being allowed to follow such a helpful course of therapy. I don't understand the reasoning! However, there are thankfully, very helpful sites available online.

http://www.dbt.self-help.com

My absolute favorite! It really is great, and 100% free! If you get to know a few blokes that are interested, maybe you could start your own group. It simply takes lots practice and devotion to helping yourself feel better. Sounds simple, I know. But, we all know how tough it can be to shut our minds up for a little bit, and let ourselves just "be" in the moment. DBT group is what pounded the mission into my brain, lol! The absolutely largest task of DBT is getting to understand oneself. Being honest, being open about how you feel, and taking the power to stand up for oneself (in appropriate situations) is really a significantly smaller piece of the pie.

I believe that these things CAN be learned and practiced outside of the classroom. It just takes lots and lots of practice! There are also lots of experienced people who are able and willing to share their wisdom ~ I'd take them up on it, if you can.

Just sending you love and hugs.

I'm sorry you're feeling this way, but please remember we're here for you.

I'm in the UK too, and I know resources are tight and it can be tough to be referred for something like DBT. I would say keep pushing for it.

Hope you're as okay as possible.
