Literally just happened, this lady was late for her appointment and got all snippy with me because I need to have her fill out consent/consultation forms.
I'm sorry but it's her own fault she's late I still have to do my job of checking her in before she gets a service done! Then I tell her to go to the waiting room to fill out the papers so the esthetician knows she's here so she decides to be a defiant c*** and stand there in front of me to fill out paperwork, I had to tell her 3 times to go downstairs!! I had to take a Xanax immediately after she went downstairs because she has to come back to me right after to pay UGHHHHHHH this is one of the many reasons I can barely hold down a job. I want to tell her to ef off and I absolutely do not want to be nice to her. |

Well she came back up and it was fast, quiet transaction. It's always worse in my mind than in real life.

Sounds like you handled it well. Some people are like that and take out their anger on anyone especially if you are giving them some sort of service. Try not to take it personally, that person would have been like that with anyone.

Handling the public is a skill - you are learning and will get better and better at dealing with disagreeable people - courses are often offered on 'dealing with difficult people' - perhaps your employer would send you on one if you say you want to improve your customer service skills.
Of course no sensible person gives a toss about improving their customer service skills but it will sell the idea to your manager better than the idea that the customers hack you off so much you need help dealing with it! |

But my employer is EXTREMELY lax to the point where I could of flipped out on her and not be fired or even reprimanded, luckily I am not that type of person and would rather stay hidden than cause a scene at my place of work so anyway my point is they wouldn't look into that type of improvement and they know I have BPD/Bipolar but this is a holistic healing center so their mindset on mental illness is a bit off they don't understand the severity of it from my perspective. |

Hey ThunderGoddess, take comfort in knowing that ...
This is not the first time, and it will certainly not be the last time, something like this happens. This lady has nothing personal against you. She would do the same thing to anyone in your shoes. She probably has her own issues. You have no control over her behavior or that of any other client that comes to you. You can only control your response to them. I know this sounds cold, but I'm sincerely just trying to point out some of the facts that could help you feel better about this whole thing. People will do what people want to do. When they do, just try doing the following: Put on a wide smile, say, "Have a wonderful day, ma'am". After doing this, see how they react to you. They will probably walk away feeling like a jackass for being rude to you. Meanwhile, you will calmly be going about your day. Good deal, right ? If you let every such interaction get to you, you will go insane. That is why I pointed out that this will not be the last time this happens ![]() |

Hi ThunderGoddess,
Sorry you had to put up with the rude woman. Some people just have nooooo idea. It's a bad reflection on her. She could have shown more respect but she chose not to. Well done for being composed. (I may have just lost my cool .....) |
