I don't have a life . I simply exist and that's all. I don't go out . I don't have friends or Hobie's . I don't take care of my self . why has my BPD lead me here ? I'm so alone . im so empty .

hi Hun, it doesn't seem like the care providers in your area are helping you enough, at least not without additional support. I may have suggested this before, maybe try posting a bit more on pc, I have to survive one day at a time and it's not what I hoped for. But I haven't given up hope that things might somehow "get better" ... trust is a huge issue for me.

If some days are a little better for you, maybe try something new, it could be something very small. I believe in you and I'm thinking of you

Do you want to do those things? If so, why don't you?

I often feel so bored and feel depressed because I'm boring. I say there's nothing to do. What is there to do? I feel like I'm living in the wrong place for me, and I'd be happier elsewhere, but I don't know where.

Is this what you mean? Is this a BPD thing? Is it just our attitudes? Is it depression?

I googled 100 things to do when I'm bored. One was go take a walk. Do you work? Working helps me feel worthwhile. For a long time I whined about my life. Then I realized my life is up to me. No one else can help me when it comes down to it.

Sorry you're feeling so empty right now.

I agree with the other who posted. Bipolar can rob us of our life and put us in a cage....if we let it. If you wait until you "feel" like doing something you will remain in this cage. Try to take on tiny step each day to something, anything...and when you do, feel proud of your accomplishment.

Walk to the mailbox, and maybe then walk around the block. Make your bed, put on some nice clothes even if you don't go anywhere. I read a book about bipolar called "Welcome to the jungle" What I liked about it was the fact the author puts a humorous spin on problems. She says things like "keep an exit to your home in a convenient location, like the front of your house. There is a door on this exit, open the door, and walk out." Baby steps...do a little something everyday to break out of the lethargy.

Relationships, the cure to loneliness, are often that low hanging fruit (there are plenty of people in the world looking for a friend or someone to love them), but I often feel like Steinbeck's Lennie, my love ultimately leads to death. There are other alleys of joy in the world though besides human connection; mastering a craft and creating something meaningful, to at least yourself but possibly others, is a start. However, I still have an ounce of hope that my situation can change regarding having healthy relationships (and I'm old), so don't give up hope of that either. Motivation from someone else is often spurious though; it really needs to come from you.
