Well I had a really bad day. Went to the doctors this morning and found out they don't do drop-in. The receptionist was rude when I tried to explain my agorapgobia and how hard it was to get there . I burst into tears went home and calmed down .

I went back to the doctors for my appointment for my meds . they tried to send me home without my meds which was my whole reason for going there twice . their system had not been updated . I refused to leave the doctors office and burst into tears again. He called in another doctor to my relief because I actually thought I was about to get dragged out by security .

I finally got my medication . not all of it but one weeks worth which is ok.

I feel much better now I finally got it . what a bad day though . the staff at the doctors are so insensitive .

Sorry that I've been sharing so much in the last few days but I really needed to . thank you for reading

the state of the UK doctors surgeries are.... well.

let's just say I'm not sure how half the people that work at these places even got to work their in the first place.

I am sorry you had a bad time of it.

agoraphobia makes it even harder.

btw- you share all you want here. it's why we're here, we want to support you.

hugs..
Thanks for this!

Yes, they are horrors.

I've been offered a meeting with a psychologist at my practice, but only on days I can't take off work. If I could speak to them directly, maybe there's a chance they could see me one early evening or something like that. But no, I have to go in and arrange the appointment at the reception desk. The staff there are awful. One's a dragon. The other is a young girl who doesn't seem to know anything.

And all the other patients in the waiting room can hear!

So, I haven't got an appointment.

To get time off work, I'd have to tell a v unsympathetic boss about my issues.

I share your frustration.

Good for you for refusing to leave!
Thanks for this!

UK doctors surgeries are.... sadly sub optimal

What a bytch of a receptionist being mean when you explained about your agoraphobia

I go there as rarely as possible. I do sometimes get funny or rude looks. I wonder if they are afraid I’ll eat them?

They are. And its not just the doctors. I've had really bad support workers too and I wonder how did they get the job. One support worker took all my ID and lost it then left the job.

It absolutely makes my blood boil when I hear how bad people are treated by the very people that should be helping them

I'm glad you stood your ground and got some meds.!!!!

It also makes me feel fortunate that I lucked out and got a good support team at my Pdocs office. I picked them randomly from a list of doctors that accept my insurance. The desk clerks are always kind and respectful. The office always returns my calls in a timely manner. The next time I'm there to see my Pdoc I'm going to make it a point to thank them and tell them how much I appreciate their kindness and professionalism.
