Somehow i seem to lose the posts i make.. not sur ehow that happens.. i did one here today asking for any advise I could get but its not here.. so i'll try again... Advise?

All I was wondering is does anyone have experience with pain management.. and what meds have been most helpful with the least amount of side effects.

I have severe cmp and fibro. as well as herniated discs and ddd.I am thinking about trying accupressure for the cmp as well as massage. .adn I don't know what else. I have never taken pain ,meds and really don't know what to expect.. but I am going to be seeing a pain management doctor soon.

Any advise is most welcome... thanks guys... ans if you can tell me how my posts get gone,, that would be great too.. Advise?

Faith

Welcome! I'm sorry to hear about your pain, and your losing posts. Until you can realize what error you are making or if it's a server problem...double check you are following the proper steps to posting... no offense... also in the meantime, once you have typed what you want to say, highlight it and hit CTL C (control "c") this will save it and then if it disappears, you go to the post window and hit CTL V (control "v") and it will paste it for you.

Sometimes if you lose a post you can use the BACK button to return to the posting window before you tried to send it. After you hit continue, hit the return to post (view your post) to make sure it is what you expected.

As for pain management, I'm an old pro. Advise? I have CMP also..nearly 20 years and I am disabled from it and PTSD and a host of other things that happened to me due to an injury.

My pain specialist is not medical..but a psychologist. He specializes in pain and stress management. I do take pain med, but I have my MD prescribe it. I find most neuros can't be bothered with "just" pain (that they think is all in the head anyway.)

Hope you like us here at PC! Let us know what specific ideas or questions you have.

Thank you Sky! I was actually beginning to think I was invisible here at Pc... and I think I did figure out what I was doing wrong to lose posts.Thank you so much! I am really quite ignorant when it comes to computer stuff... trying to learn as I go.My son had to teack me how to "surf the net" and he calls me a nerd all the time.. LOL!

Thanks again for answering... I appreciate it! Going Mondy for pain management. I am hoping he will suggest massage therapy for the cmp.I think it can be relieved somewhat.

Oh my MD has asked for massage therapy for me for 11 years! I did get a series of it when the insurance company sent me to one of THEIR therapists (who promised to cure me in 6 weeks...boy did he eat crow!) but I haven't had massage therapy since. Yes, it did help...especially by having it right before physical therapy. It increased the results from PT beautifully. (But of course, it was something that worked so the ins. co. wouldn't approve it again.)

Hope you have good success with this!

and water. moving in water is so different than moving on land. add massage, physical therapy, and maybe yoga/stretching...... we have to find our own routines of what works by trial and error. repetitive movements tear me down in a minute. i can't forget that or I pay the price.

my physical therapists always said, "Just keep moving, if you can move it without negative ramifications, move it". I squirm a lot, doing isometrics and other gentle kinds of movement while lying on my bed.

and, "Don't push it, 'No pain no gain is kaka poo poo". Listen to your body. If something isn't working, trust that and stop.

I also have had good results from acupuncture. If you are repelled by the thought of cold packs, add a hot pack to the picture. I put cold on the hurt and have my hot water bottle to put under my knees or ...... to balance off the cold and keep it "in it's place" and not chill your whole being.
