I posted in "Health Support" about a week ago about a so called sprained ankle. Definitely did not turn out to be that. (I've had a sprained ankle before so that's why I thought it felt like that). I put ice on it and elevated it and within a day or so it was better. I was so relieved (since I don't have any insurance or anything to go get it checked out). Well after a couple of days had passed I woke up one morning unable to get out of bed. The pain was no longer in my ankle... it was now on the top of my foot. It feels like something heavy fell on it and crushed it and it is very much swollen. It's about 50% worse at night. The pain goes up my leg and it has a throbbing sensation. I"ve never had any sort of ankle/foot pains/problems in the past. This just came up suddenly. I am in a lot of pain right now. Does anyone have any ideas of what it might be?

I do was thinking clot? Hmm, go please to have it checked out. Is there swelling? Keep track of your symptoms and get there now. Let us know how it goes.

I think Sky is right,it could either be Gout, which is extremely painful, and moves up your leg,or cellulitis that needs Emergency care! So It would be in your best interest to go to the emergency room.If it is cellulitis and it goes untreated and gets to be too bad,you could lose that foot,or even higher up! My DAD had both, that's how I know,I had to take him to the ER for the same thing you are describing, but it was his hand that had the cellulitis that he almost lost his hand, and gout in both feet and ankle's! So ER is the best option! Don't ignore it,please!
