Gerber~
I too have fibro. And with that scoliosis in the L1-L5 area and some arthritis in there too. So I very well understand the pain. I just went for an hour massage ( our insurance helps alot on this) for my back and legs and shoulders. It helps alot with the muscle pain. I also get an adjustment from my chiropractor. Which helps alot too. The one thing he does though that seems to help me more than anything is this stretch . He has me lay on my stomach on this table . Straps my ankles in and then the table lowers and comes back up for the lower half of my body. It stretches the spine. OMG does this feel good after. I feel like I am walkng taller than ever! And it seems the more treatments I get the longer it lasts. So maybe you can ask your chiro about that? Its worth the try. The massage kinda hurts a bit at first. And you might bruise some . At least I did when I first got it. But now its all good. Good luck hope this helps. Ohhh one more thing .. have you gone for any Physical therapy? THey can teach you some stretches to do there that will keep your muscles limbered up. I also go to a pain management doctor ( physiatrist) and he prescribes some pain meds ( ultram er at night and lidoderm patches ~ for trigger points and mobic for my arthritis) If taken regualarly.. they help alot. But you gotta learn your limitations too on how much you can do physically. Dont push yourself its not worth it. Take care Beth

can't do stretching because of the hypermobility, it puts me at more risk of damage.
i don't remember if i actually said what all the deal is with the pain i have... spondylolysis/thesis L4/L5 trauma disc compression L4/L5, C3/C4 impinged nerve @S1 SJD schmorl's node - forget which disc bulging disc Hympermobility Syndrome/EDSIII which causes rotating, repetitive joint subluxation, sprain, strain, tendonitis, bursitis possible fibromyagia and i have a crappy job where i work on my feet all day. right now i am propped up with an ice pack and the stupid #@!! tylenol. TYLENOL!!!!!!!! WTF? The GP actually looked at me and said "...we don't understand what's causing your pain.." AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! BUT i now DO have the PM doc appt.... in Sept. SHe's one of only like two in the city so it's a wait list to get in. At least i have it. And god bless my pdoc for giving me the lyrica. sorry for being crabby. Like i said before, i would cry but all it accomplishes is to give me a headache. much peace and love |

Sorry gerber! It's so hard to be in so much pain. I went to the massage therapist yesterday and hadn't been in 6 weeks due to hers/mine vacations. I was in tough shape. So she went alot more agressive going into the knotts in my hip butt thighs and lower back. It really helped - still in pain but able to walk.
I'm sending healing thoughts your way. Much peace to you.... Tranquility
