I hope all of you feel better. It sounds like we are all down for the count. Liz, I hope the petri dish leaves you alone for the rest of the year. May all the petri dishes leave you alone. Take some lysol spray with you to work.

WC, I'm so sorry your Mom needs a hip joint. It will be very hard on her and hard on you. I went through it with my Mom.

Cake, I'm sorry you have to use them, but I'm so glad you have the special cup and plate you need. I think getting the emergency button to push is a great idea. That way you'll be safe and someone will be watching out for you. I hope you get it very soon.

Gus, I'm loving those angels! I really like what you said about Dr's practices. Boy, isn't that the truth!

I'm always out of whack for about two weeks when the time changes. Maybe it won't be as hard this time. I need to make the time to research the new anti-depressant today and check out the side-effects. Right now, I believe a nibble of food is in order. I haven't eaten yet today.

Love to all!!!!!

I looked up the new anti-depressant. No wonder I've been having trouble with things! I've had a lot of symptoms that I didn't share here. They are all in the list of side effects.

I've left a voice mail and an email for the pdoc. I can't just quit taking the med in case we have to work my way off it.

I've been seeing double, hearing noise, and my ankles and feet have swollen so much they feel like they are going to burst. That's just a few of the things going on with me. It's also almost impossible to concentrate.

Anyway, hopefully help is on the way.

Love and hugs to all of you.

Just checking in briefly. I'm sleepy and it's been a while. But I want you all to know I'm thinking of you. Well wishes and healing to all those who are ill right now, for whatever reason.

Cake, I think getting one of those button thingies would be a good idea. I have a couple of friends nagging me to get one. They are afraid something will happen to me outside on the farm and I won't be able to call for help. My compromise so far has been to carry my cell phone when I'm working outside.

Cold is getting better. My sinuses are plugged and I sound like a bullfrog, but am feeling better. Jan, no way to avoid the little petri dishes. Your suggestion of Lysol brought to mind something I wish I could do. Wish I could blast the little disease infested buggers with Lysol when they walk in my door. I suspect I'd get in trouble though!

My feelings were hurt. By the end Of the day everything was ok. But lord I need a break.

He had to be back at work at 3:00 am today and with the time change lord was it hard. I was able to go back to sleep after he left but McGee wanted to go outside and was banging on my door. It was raining and cold so I said no. I managed to go to sleep but woke up gasping for air I couldn't breathe. So I have to put my pride to the side and look into a system that if I can't breathe or fall I push a button for help. Hubby works a lot and I am home alone a lot. I feel like crap and I have so much stuff to do. Stuff for our trip and just everyday cleaning my muscles are so tight that every step hurts. Did you guys know that I have to use a plastic cup with handles because a regular cup or a coffee cup is to heavy for me to hold. The same thing with plates etc. I am just a mess.

Sending positive vibes and hugs to everyone

Been in psych ER the last two days. Sucky but necessary. I guess I didn't "appear sick"; the drs were trying to get me to leave! They even only had 8 patients the first night and 14 the second; the room is for 30 patients. I gave up explaining, went mute after switching alters, then went catatonic. "Alright; you've convinced me." Oh thank you, your holiness. >_<
Had 3 appointments back to back after leaving psych: therapy, psych nurse, neuro.
Ended up exhausted, confused, lost, and I never got to eat between 9am and 4pm. Also was dehydrated. Sucky. But! I'm home.
There were ladybugs inside ER on the windows. My 10 yr old boy alter collected them (urine sample cups are far better used for catching bugs) ) and then put them in my house plants today when I got home.... need I say I can't find a single one of the 14?

It seems like everyone is struggling right now. Add me to that list. Lately, almost every day I wonder, "Will this be the day that I give up?" In less than two months after ending 5 months of physical therapy, I've lost what little ground I gained.

I wanted to tell you something that has helped with balance and walking. My physical therapist recommended trekking poles. They are very lightweight and can be adjusted to the length I need to stand upright. There are so many available now, in varying price points. And colors, too; I was able to get pink! There are 2 basic ways to adjust the length: flip lock/thumb screw or twist. I got the former, but the latter is easier to use. Most can be collapsed down to fit in carry-on luggage. They have rubber tip protectors for using on hard surfaces and you can buy replacement tips that are wider, for more stability. A few are made with cane-type handles. The poles really have been easier for me than crutches and walkers. I'm pretty clumsy and my body has always been unsynchronised, but have been able to quickly learn how to use them to walk (left pole forward with right foot, right pole forward with left foot). The biggest issue has been my anxiety over thinking people are staring. That's lessened with time.

Really super tired of fighting it all. Med provider terminated with me today (via email) due to insurance and being unwilling to waive my unaffordable $36 copay. (I get “extra help” with copays). I’ve only seen her a handful of times this year. If she spent less time talking about herself and bothered to show up on time, she could have more better paying clients. I digress. It’s cold, raining, and I want to hibernate until spring.
Hugs all

I'm so worried about everyone! Kiya, are you still going to get your meds? Gus, please write and let us know you got home and if you are all right. Christina, I'm so glad you're going to TN, but I'm sorry you're sick. Liz, how are you feeling now? Cake, I hope you get that device. I've actually thought of getting one for myself. Where is WC?

I know I've left people out and I'm sorry for that.

I had to change anti-depressants because of the side effects. My friend says my speech is impaired right now. I can't hear it but I do know it's hard to put thoughts into words. I hope this one works.

Belle is very jealous of the computer. She always wants me to play with her instead. When I go somewhere I have to move the computer chair into the middle of the room because she climbs up and taps the keyboard and I never know what I'm going to find on the monitor when I get back!

Jayne, I think those walking sticks are a wonderful idea. Thanks for sharing that with us.

Gus, I love the pics of the angels and especially the one with the angel and the elephant. I'm so glad you got to the store and back.
I hope you rest today.

Cake, you're right. Belle does love to look at the monitor, but a couple times I had to call a friend for help on how to get my toolbar unlocked! She magically moved it to the side and I couldn't get it back on the bottom.

It's cold here today. The high is going to be 40 degrees. The floor here is cement covered with the thinnest, old indoor/outdoor carpet you've ever seen. My feet freeze and Belle's paws get very cold. I bought her some little socks. I let her see and smell them last night. She got very excited and ran around and around in circles. She tried to take one, but I wouldn't let her have it. Today I'll try them on her. She's not going to be happy, but I'm going to try it. I'll let you know how it goes.

I think the cold might be moving into my chest, I'm not sure. Am developing a cough. It might be from crap draining out of my head though.

We have today off work for Veteran's Day. I had all sorts of plans for things I wanted to get done. Instead I slept until 11. I absolutely have to go to the grocery store today. Am out of both cat and dog food! Am going to do that then crash for the rest of the day. Might crash for the whole weekend.

Anyone got some cheese to go with my whine?!

I've started PT again and it was okay. The part that hurts most from that is from the PTA working on a knot I've had in my hip/butt for a while. It was there last time I was in PT, back in like June, but they couldn't get it all the way down then. The knot is on the same side that most of my sciatic pain was and is.
