Fibromyalgia Check-In Thread #6 ...In A Flare
Fibromyalgia Check-In Thread #6 ...Symptoms Feel Unmanageable

Currently: Fibromyalgia Check-In Thread #6 ...In A Flare

It’s been raining again, I’ve been sleeping Fibromyalgia Check-In Thread #6 ... a lot and getting necessary rest. Both my rare diseases have been flaring up and causing symptoms. I did leave early Saturday morning to check my mail, grab fresh fruits and vegetables.

Hashimoto-I was recently approved for medical financial assistance. I need a Thyroid Uptake Scan and my total portion is $500.00. Yes, $500.00 to check if I have thyroid cancer. I find this corporate greed disgusting. My anxiety will be at ease once I receive the formal letter.

I’ve been doing much better with regularly taking my vitamins, supplements, inhaler and ulcer medication.

Fibromyalgia-I’ve been trying to do a few rows of knitting each day. I miss coloring. When I color, I start having muscle spasms in my hands.

Depression- I’ve been getting a lot of natural sunlight. I don’t stay outside too long because of the humidity.

Grief and Loss- Grief is so weird. One day you think of them and you don’t feel so... affected. You miss them but you’re okay. Another day, you’re minding your business and something minor reminds you of them. Next thing you know, you’re in tears and sad for the rest of the day. Sigh. -Jadoirian [Twitter].

Protection: I still wear masks, recently received new masks I ordered.

I really like the symptom rating system at the beginning of your post!

Can I borrow it?

Hope you're having a relatively decent day today!

and it is here!

it arived this morning, and is now set up. it is a lot more comfortable, for sure and provides a lot more support (this one even has arms and my other one didn't!), so I'll see how I get on with it.

in other news it's been raining all night. it's what we've needed though- it's really cooled the air and it's going to rain some more today I think (it's really quite cloudy)

it's still raining today, has been all night. like I said though, it's really needed, cooling the air nicely.

shower really hurt today, and in the longrun did nothing for my mood at all apart from making it worse because of the pain.

chair's still nice though, really comfortable

and I have a mcdonalds to look forward to later, should be nice..

Thank you and absolutely. It helps me to interact with others that experience symptoms from chronic illnesses.

Had a flare yesterday that had me hurting, braindead and exhausted.

I'm really struggling with my life/work balance. I got through the last few months of craziness at work by telling myself to hang in there because things slow down in the summer. Thing is it's the end of June and we are still petal to the metal at work. I want to take some time off, but am so far behind now. Taking time off will put me even further behind.

((( @lizardlady ))) ...

That is a tough one!

Maybe a couple of extended weekends would benefit you while not making the falling behind get too much worse?

It seems most employers don't care if their employees crash & burn, they'll just kick them aside and find someone else to do the work until they also crash and burn!

It's an endless, vicious cycle so I'm for ...

Self-care! ... First & Foremost! ... Always!

I’ve been on a new medication for IBS for 30 days and I notice a huge difference.

Based on labs my immunologist found that my Hashimoto is causing my rare diseases and other autoimmune diseases to have a domino effect, constantly flare up.

I’ve completed a thyroid scan and next will be a thyroid uptake scan. The purpose is to test for thyroid cancer. I fund funding for my co-pay [$500].

Fibromyalgia
I’ve been soaking regularly, doing stretches, walking, I declined big pharma meds commonly used for Fibromyalgia. I decline all medications that have possible side effects that concern me.
I’ve still been experiencing tender points. I’ve had my medical cannabis license since May 2020. When the pain is very severe, I cover up with a blanket like a mummy and try to not move at all.

Pflower, no way did you sound like bossy Betty. You sounded like a caring person.

I'm supposed to be off this next week, but am going to work Monday. That will allow me to finish stuff that needs to be done by the end of the month. Haven't decided about the rest of the week. I'm telling myself to take it off.

I had a really tough day today (afternoon, anyway)

had a visit from a new member of the mental health team- and apart from it being totally unexpected and a shock to the system, one of the questions she asked me was.... what are the 5 most important things to move forward?

and I really didn't have an answer for her

Possible trigger:

which is the truth, but found that I couldn't say that to her because it may end bad for me

so I just told her litirally theo nly things I could think of- move back to my home city, and stop being treated like crap and that I don't have a brain

okay, that last one about being treated like crap is possibly something she can help me with, but moving back to my home city?. who am I kidding. I just don't want anything apart from

Possible trigger:

so I found the question really hard

when she left I just fell silent and felt so drained.. wishing I could tell her more, but also wishing that I never met her in the first place.

distracted myself by writing my shopping list, and I guess that helped a little.
