Oh wow I didn't know this was a thread!
The weather is making me flare up so badly. Even under my fingernails feel like they are bruised. It's horrid.

Glad you found our thread! Welcome. Although I'm sorry to hear about your flare. Weather can be such a beast sometimes. Ouchies!!! I did some furniture moving and cleaning today. I'm already hurting a bit (using muscles I forgot I had) but I know tomorrow should be a doozy for me. ugggh |

Hi guys! Even though I haven't slept well the last two nights my pains under control. I actually had the energy to really clean and organize my kitchen today. My husband came home from a trip and was so happy. Yes he loved that the kitchen was spotless but it was the fact that I felt good and had the energy to do it that he was happiest about. I had forgotten what a really good day felt like. It had been so long.

Me too! My kids know I love them with all my heart and they do understand when I'm in pain they've never known me without it. It's me that puts so much pressure on myself.

I'm glad the kids are aware and dealing well with your pain. I so understand the "It's me that puts so much pressure on myself." I do the same exact thing. I get so upset at times with myself because I can't do the things I used to do. I can only push myself so far and then I crumble, feeling guilty, ashamed and sometimes even stupid. bah....I try hard not to do that, but it just eeks out at times ya know?

Oh yes I know! One of the hardest things for me is the fibro fog. I loved to read and kept a dictionary with me and if I didn't know a word I'd look it up. In later years the way I spoke and expressed myself helped me to further my career. I worked in an attorney's office, mainly with clients, and always knew what to say and how to say it. Now I find myself stumbling to come up with the right words (I've been writing this for 1/2 hr. Lol) they are in there but I just can't grab them. I come across as an airhead and I'm so far from that. My memory is shot, I can't tell you how many times I've had to ask someone their name for the 2nd time. Or walked into a room and can't remember why. My kids are use to asking me 5 times for something.

Absolutely....I used to be an intelligent person, know I feel as dumb as a rock.
![]() So frustrating when I can't think of the word that was just there a second ago and I have to stop talking and try to regain my composure before I continue. I worked for almost 20 years in a local newspaper, first 5 years in the business office then the next 15 in the circulation dept. The amount of numbers, names and addresses that I could remember always astounded me, now I can't even remember where addresses or streets are in town anymore. ![]() |

Thank God it's not just me!!! Not that I want you to have it. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia when I was 30 but I had been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis 2 years before that and before that Lyme disease. I was always in so much pain and none if the medications they gave me worked. Some drs I knew didn't really believe me. I switched insurances and had to find someone new. My new dr had me tell him all my symptoms and when I was done he said "have you ever heard of fibromyalgia?" Of course he had to rule everything else out first. You know the routine. When he did he referred me to a great dr. Been with her ever since. She really saved my sanity.

I don't know if it's my fibro or CFS, but am totally utterly exhausted and have terminal brain fog.

example of brain fog....
Set up the coffee pot this morning, turned it on and went to do some other things while the coffee brewed. Went back to get a cup of coffee. No coffee in the pot! What the heck!?!?! Oh yeah, you have to add WATER to the machine to get coffee! ![]() |

Oh dear....
![]() One thing I can say about our foggy brains, they certainly can lead us to some laughter as long as we don't take ourselves too seriously all the time. ![]() |

I don't think I can blame my brain fog on fibromyalgia - I have been foggy due to major depression my entire life.
I am concerned now, because I walk slower than anyone, and slow walking and memory problems are the main predictors of dementia. Oh, well - been demented my whole life, too. My grandkids actually like me this way (other than the extreme down times). |

Could the slower walking have to do with anything physically going on with you UpNOut?
Have you talked with your doc about your concerns of dementia? I worry about that happening to me as well....not something that I want to happen. ![]() ![]() |

Same here, woke up this morning and it hurt to walk on my feet. I've had 4 days of barely any pain it's been months and months since I've felt good. I had fallen into a bad depression because of the pain and guilt. I actually got most of my house really clean. It feels so good to wake to a clean house and even better to have been able to do it! Now if I can only get my kids to pick up after themselves. Lol.

It's definitely not easy. I spent hrs cleaning my sons room and within two hrs there was stuff all over the floor. I got him to pick up but he didn't put things away the way I had them. I know it doesn't work to just leave it until they can't stand it anymore because I tried that and they just started sleeping in the guest room. Lol and plus it took me hrs to clean it up. If I find something that works I promise to let you know. Next I have to tackle my daughters room. That will probably take days. Ugh.
