My external speakers aren't working but the internal ones are. I found a loose connection but that wasn't it. I've checked all I know how to check and everything "says" everything else is working just fine. I've changed settings and changed them back again, you name it, and nothing is working.

Could it be my sound card? My logic says "no." Otherwise I wouldn't get any sound, right?

How do I figure all this out?? Can anybody tell me?

If your internal speakers are working then your sound card is fine. It could be the port that you plug your external speakers into that has the problem or it could be the speakers themselves. Im guessing that it is probably a hardware issue and not a software issue. Hope this helps,
Jason

Can't be sure cuz I'm not there. Do your external speakers require additional power source, are they plugged into the correct spot? Is the switch on the speakers turned ON and UP? Is the setting for using external speakers selected on your computer (or is it set for inboard ones?) Do you "apply" the selection, if so? thinking...

Ok... are you saying you don't have an external speaker problem now? (I'm confused by the "What now?") Because you said </font><blockquote><div id="quote"><font class="small">Quote:</font>

Both sets of speakers are working; both the internal and the external. I'm thinking it's in my Windows Media Player or Napster. Just don't know how to check things out in the WMP.

There might be something corrupt in one of the dll's that windows Medai player uses. If it is a dll which is also used by Napster the problem may be able to be fixed by updating/re-insalling windows medai Player.

Thanks, Comp! I had thought of that but was holding back for some reason. Now that you've mentioned it, I'm going to try it. Can anybody tell me?

Thanks again!

Windows Media is working again, but the volume is very, very low. While on Yahoo Messenger last night, the volume worked FINE! As soon as I logged off, the volume went down again. WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON??

Oh... btw, I redownloaded Windows Media 10 AND Napster... Can anybody tell me?
