I would hope if a member chooses to make a fresh start he/she would avoid the very people he/she clashed with, instead of doing the same thing.

Saving lifes... once I was dealing with pretty bad episode and was hanging in chat with friends who tried to ensure i keep it together. And then a person bursts in about how they ODed. Talked to them and told them to go to ER. It triggered my own issues bad way. Somebody from my school recently died. Well, I had a bad night thinking I might be responsible partly for somebody's life.

next day the person appears in chat all fun and jokes....

and you wonder why soem of us are so cynical? You meet few scammers and then you never give money to beggars again. You meet few emotional scammers and you feel not so generous emotionally anymore.

Thanks everyone for your input on this thread.

Please know that we don't arbitrarily make a guideline. When a guideline is created, it is because there is a need for it. It is not supportive to see a member post a goodbye post. These members are more than welcome to pm their friends to let them know their decision to leave. There are as many reasons for members to leave as there are medications.

We allow members to post that they are "taking a break". In this case, the member is not leaving permanently, but wants others to know they may not be around for a bit or as much.

Members who leave PC, that have been in good standing and are not banned are allowed to come back to PC either with the same username or a different one. Of course there are times when it's easy to figure out who the new member is. Again, reasons for doing this can be as many as all the different meds there are. To assume things without having all the facts does yourself a disservice and the other member as well.

At this time, I'm going to close this thread. Of course, if you see posts/threads out there that you think or feel are against guidelines, please, report them or pm a mod/admin. We will always look into them.

With Care,
sabby

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
