I installed a updated version of norton anti virus on my computer, but now all of these weired things keep popping up on my computer like someone else is controlling it. I don't even have to be logged onto the internet and somehow it gets logged on and tons of sights pop up that I have to click out of just to get out. Its making me mad because porn sites pop up and I dont appreciate it.

Viruses are not the same as pop-ups. Norton only makes sure you don't get viruses.

You need a program like "Ad-Aware" that will wipe out the idiots with their pop-up program ads and "spyware" from sites you visit that aren't nice. These types of programs don't really hurt your computer, they just hurt you and your online experience (as you've already seen).

What ISP are you using? I have had 3 different ones and they all provided added protection for hikers and pop ups and spam etc. BTW you need to be sure to get the updates from microsoft too... I have my computer set for automatic updates, so I don't have to worry about it.
