My order of protection ended yesterday. Now i have no legal custdy of the kids and no more child support. My lawyer said he has to wait until my husband is served the divorce papers before he can file for tempory custdy and support. My husband has the children this weekend and I don't know if he is going to bring them back to me on tommorow night. I can't live without my children. I am so scared. I have no legal protection , he can do whatever he wants to me now. I hate my life right now.

How sad and scary that is...I don't know your situation, but you have to believe that your ex wants what's best for his kids. Otherwise, you'll make your self crazy.

I can't even imagine what this must be like. Try to keep your thoughts positive, and know that we're all pulling for you. Hopefully the legal system will do it's thing and you and the kids will soon settle into your new "normal". Remember that no matter what happens, you will carry on for your kids. We all know you're going to do what is best for them.

Oh owl, I'm so sorry you're going through this. Try to keep expecting the best. I know how trite that sounds when you're down and out but it sounds like that is your only empowerment option right now. Please keep it posted. We all care.

thanks for all the support. It means a lot to me. I wish I could say I am fine and not worrying but I can't. I am totally freaking out. I have had 2 xanax tonight and am still shaking. I just can't live if he takes the boys away from me. They are the joy of my life. I hate that he gets to see them anyway, he was the one child protective services was called on. He was the one who beat me up. Now I have nothing. If he comes over I can't call the police, if he doesn't pay me, I have no recourse. If he keeps the children I have no legal custudy. He knows this, he always said he would take the children if we told anyone what he did to us. He said he would tell everyone I am crazy. But we have never hurt anyone ever! He has. I am just so scared for my sweet boys. I just want them home. We can't stop crying.

check with domestic violence agency in your area. when I got my order of protection with their help it did not have an expiration date. It was good as long as I did not violate it by going within 500 feet of my abuser and did not initiate communication with him.

Maybe you could get with an organization such as battered women who have legal resources to help you. I think they are free services. Hopefully you won't need them.

My children are home with me safe. My heart is so relieved. My husband was a jerk when I picked them up. But my children are safe with me. everything is so uncertain right now. It just doesn't seem like Christmas. I am in so much pain.
