Yeah, the new one has all the ribbons and crap...I was gonna teach a class on it at the local college, but I use 2003 myself, so it looks completely different to me too...

I personally prefer 97 (Draw component is much more user friendly than the later ones). It's funny, one of her professors refuses to use 2007 so frequently they have to resubmit assignments over and over again until something other than jibberish is being submitted.

Glad to hear that it's working out Ray, I knew that you could get a discount through the college bookstore, but that (in my experience) was the expensive one, professional, with all the bells and whistles. Student and teacher has most, but much cheaper.

My daughter's is too, but they issue a laptop that is included in the price of tuition. Every two years they get a new one and have the option to purchase the old one for a nominal fee. I told her to make friends with someone in the graphic arts program cause I want a Mac (only the art students get mac's).

Hmm, deal, well you pay for it in the tutition, but it's good because no matter WHAT they do to it, snap the monitor off, as long as it can be fixed, it's $50. The campus is awesome, one of the first to be wireless and provide all students with laptops. If you can't get wireless for whatever reason, there is a outlet literally every five feet for them to plug in a hard line.

But as I've said she really hates Word 2007, I've never worked with it, but it seems she can never find anything she saves without doing a search.

I'm glad that it's all working out for you! Good luck dealing with the program!
