She didn't tell me she was going to do it. I just found out tonight when I asked her what she did today. I know life just seems to get worse and worse, but we're trying to stick together and get through this alive, and we can't lose any more people. I can't take all this anymore. All my friends, everyone, either they want to kill themselves or they already have. We're so lost these days, I just don't know what happened. One moment we're kids, running around and playing like nothing mattered, and the next we're all dead inside, with nowhere to go and nothing left to smile about. I don't understand how this happened to all of us, or why, and I just can't do this anymore. It's getting to be too much...

Hello-

I am so sorry that your friend is in such pain and I can imagine how hard this must be for you. It breaks my heart how much hopelessness and despair there is-I battle these things myself. I wish I could do something to help you-all I can do is say that I'm a good listener if you need someone to talk to. I wish you all the best.

I know you feel... I've had a friend try to kill herself. it's sad, but the only thing you can do is try to be positive in the darkest of times, no matter how hard or hopeless it may be. Just try to support your friend and if you must, hang out with her more and try to find the reason why she's doing this. If you already know, try to stop it, unless it's impossible.

I hope all goes well in the future!

I had an ex in high school who tried to kill himself. I had no idea. It's absolutely heartbreaking especially when you have no idea how to help.

I know... Sometimes I can cheer people up, but when I can't I just feel awful.

The ***** of depression is that as much and as hard as you try to cheer the person up...it just doesn't seem to help. Is your friend getting professional help?

People often appreciate someone being with them where they are.

An idea is to acknowledge the pain, be with them in the pain, without trying to cheer them up.

It is a way of acceptance: letting them knowing that someone accepts them as they are. That they are not alone with their feelings.

No one's ever happy anymore... But yes, I believe she's seeing a therapist. I'll make sure.
