There's a f**** person in Kenosha Country in WI who's being monitored for Ebola!!! This sucks! I've had it with all these bad things. All the bad and hardships and sadness and death and suffering in the world. This only adds to it. ;_; I'm super scared about this Ebola. I mean, the person they're monitoring is in JAIL... and of which they came in from Liberia... of course... but still! Should I be worrying about these things? I just want to live in peace. I'm tired of being almost sick with worry. Thanks for any feedback. Have a great night.

I know where you're coming from. Something like Ebola feeds directly into my mistrust of nature and human race as a whole. Recently I sort of see that the horrifying (fear, ignorance, greed, stupidity) and the inspirational and courageous are both always there. From what I understand, Ebola is very severe and scary, but it is also quite stoppable (it was totally stopped in Nigeria, for instance). Maybe this can be a wake-up call. It could be much much worse.

Ebola is not an airborne disease. There are things you can do to reduce the chance of acquiring a virus. Wash your hands often. Don't touch your face with your hands. Don't touch other people - no handshakes. When you are grocery shopping use a sanitizer wipe on the buggy handles. When washing your hands in a public place don't touch the sink handles with your bare hands, use a paper towel.

This is not 100% foolproof but it gives you a better chance to avoid several communicable diseases.

Oh I know what you mean! I HATE watching the news because it worries the HELL out of me! Death, destruction, doom and gloom everywhere! It really screws with my depression big time! I start to wonder why I'd even WANT to be "happy-go-lucky" like all the perky people in the world. How CAN I be happy knowing that so many people are suffering as bad AND WORSE than I am? As bad as my life is I can only imagine the plight of others in worse predicaments! It's awful! But I guess all we can do is do the best we can to stay safe, and help as many as we can if we're able. I wish I could do a LOT of things to help heal the whole world! It is sad and disheartening not to be able to bring about positive changes to all of this madness! Please take care and try not to let your fears consume you! We're here for you!

Forget the movie and go with the science on Ebola. The news ratings depend on anxiety and fear, so the reporters create it, and the movie. Movies are great for entertainment, but not for science. So stop worrying, you will be fine. Our streets will not be come vacant, lined with burnt out buildings and melted cars, with an occasional zombie staggering down the middle.

I think I would prefer that. At least then I wouldn't be the only zombie.

Don't watch the news!

The world isn't going to crumble if you aren't up to date with the latest news-fueled mass hysteria. In fact, you may even become a less anxious, happier person without being fueled with a daily dose of toxicity! I stopped watching the news and no, I didn't become stupid. I even stopped checking my email because that was full of depressing stuff, too. Anyone who knows me knows that they need to call me or text me as if they email me, I won't ever see it. I am much happier for it all, too. I like being less "connected".

I take media breaks by spending some time camping up at Spirit Mountain. Or on horse back.

I have family in Dallas, two brothers with their families. One of the brothers works with refugees as part of his job. Their kids went to school with the kids that were pulled out (after their parents were told not to send them)...I am off my rocker with worry,worry,worry...I am totally afraid this are the 'end times' (even tho I do not want to believe in such a thing)...one of my sons just got a very good job w Boeing in California and I am now terrified of him leaving, not being able to take care of him...and just of the whole country. It does not seem the govt I voted for is even trying to take care of the problem. I'm a mess and I can't get help cause my insurance does not cover mental health care...
