Just need to share.. That it REALLY pisses me off that a friend hasn't been replying to my messages for months, and now even my therapist is ignoring me (I'm not able to pay for her services at the moment, and she's only been helping me out of the goodness of her heart, but I'm still irritated). I know they have their reasons, can be busy etc. but it still really does make me mad. Grrrr!!!

I can understand that. I've had that happen to me before and it stings.

I know that it can be irritating. However, if they have their good reasons, try not to be too mad at them..

I understand your sentiments 100%. It truly sucks to feel ignored and dismissed. Perhaps your friend has issues going on that you don't know about. And perhaps your therapist got tired of helping when the services aren't being paid for. Those are the two thoughts I came up with. I hope you hear back from your friend, but if not, maybe they're not really your good friend. You could always ask why they're not responding. That's what I've done and it usually gets a reply. (((Hugs)))

Thank you for sharing your thoughts, golden_eve! I asked my friend how she was doing a couple of times during summer, and a month ago asked her directly why she hadn't been in contact. I've received no reply. I think I have given up there thinking I can only wait and see if she ever contacts me again. I think my therapist not replying either just brought it all back. I have to do some work so I don't start to feel worthless every time someone else ignores me..

Yes, try not to take it inwardly to mean you are worthless. You are a human being worthy of love and affection. And if your friend cannot give you friendship right now, perhaps you will reconnect again down the road. You never know. Some people disappear like that, and you never know why. They may have a lot going on, as I mentioned before. Understandable that your therapist ignoring you too just poured salt on the wound. Try to focus on everything else that may be going better or well for you and stick to the positive. (((((hugs)))))

I still wasn't able to let this anger go, and every time I see my empty inbox it's like a knife to the insides.. So I dug deeper and found that beyond the anger, I'm just so SAD that I was never 'the most important person to anyone'.. I guess that's what this is really about. Having been abandoned as a kid. There was a time when NO ONE cared that I was in a bad place with my lunatic dad.. My mom was the only one who was in a position to notice, but she's blind to people treating others badly, and that it's wrong.. Probably because she never learned her own worth growing up in a violent home.. She never dared say her own father was WRONG putting his family through abuse..
Realizing all this is actually a relief! I feel I can finally move on.. I can make myself the most important person in my world - and not in a destructive way where I don't care about anyone else, but in the sense that if I don't care about and for myself, a me won't exist to do anything - good! - in this world.. ![]() |
