Can you just take a bus to a nearby town and walk around or visit some type of thing there like a museum or a particular park. This could count for short trip in my books. Who cares what other people do. I know people who go on two weeks Alaskan cruises. No way no how I can afford such thing. I don’t care if others can. I do what I can

I really love Divine's idea about exploring local things. If you haven't already, you might be surprised how much there is locally to see/do. It can be fun to look at your area as if you were a tourist, and to go see some things that you might normally overlook when you live in the area.
For further travel, I think it might help if you could get more specific. Like... is there somewhere specific you want to see, or something you want to do. "Travel" is just so general. Depending on what you can do with your disability, you might look at things like house swaps (I've heard of this, never tried it), or a foreign language school where you stay with a local family (not sure if this is more or less expensive, but I'm thinking it might be helpful to have people there in case you need help for medical reasons?). Also, there used to be a place (maybe in Spain, I think?) where you could go and stay for free, but in return would spend some of your time teaching English to locals who signed up for classes. I don't think you had to actually lead classes, I think (it's been awhile, my memory is fuzzy) that you just had to sit around and chat with people in English, so that they could practice their language skills. Something like that might work? It should save some money, plus would give you people to talk to, so you're not totally on your own. I thought it was a neat idea, but it's been more than 10 years since I looked at it, and I don't have the website anymore - sorry. Good luck! |

Ooh - here's a blog post about it, with links to a couple places (Spain, Poland, China, and Germany):
Speak English. Get Free Lodging | Frugal Travel Guy I googled "free room and board in spain in exchange for english lessons" - so you might want to try that (maybe change the country, if you're looking for something specific) and see what comes up. |

I do understand that with physical illness you might be limited with what you can do and I am sorry for that. |

If that's how you really feel, it might actually be worth looking into that savings situation to see if you could fund some kind of trip without taking out a loan. I see you are somewhere in Europe and I assume by 'trip' you mean somewhere on another continent. If that is true, there are package deals to lots of cool places that include air, hotel, transfers, even food. Just depends on where you were thinking of going. Some of them are very reasonable, given current travel costs generally.
When I am feeling trapped and depressed, which happens regularly, the solution for me, anyway, is action. Taking some action. So, why don't you actually start making this a reality by beginning to research it. Choose a destination. Australia? USA? China is cool. Wherever. Pick someplace and start digging. You will find a massive spread in pricing from 400 euros a week (without air) to thousands. See what you can find. Maybe you can actually do something creative and make this happen for yourself. I hope so. At the end of the day, though, it all starts with picking somewhere you'd like to visit and getting some pricing. If you never do that, you will never know what might have been.

I agree with ALL the other wise and wonderful posters, @LonelyMan! Yes, I'd suggest to start saving what you can and perhaps look for some of the cheapest/nearest destinations. I am sorry your Physical Illness doesn't let you move around as freely as you want! I TRULY, REALLY AM SORRY!

Thanks ![]() ![]() Well they do have an older house in not very nice area. I would choose a nicer house over trips to silly chat shows which is where some go. I think they are really fake, i cannot stand any of those presenters and i think itis a very empty life. the do not have children i'd say they are too selfish. They even went when a parent was very ill and were told may die.But they went anyway leaving the care to another member of family. v selfish. I think they live in a fantasy word of game shows and celebrities I have difficulty walking or standing and a ten minute walk to a ferry from car park on one place i want to go would be v difficult I could afford it iam just to tired and fatigued. I cannot get out of bed in morning |
