I decided to start a thread for me.
Yesterday, relief meant watching The Simpsons with my dad and knitting. It also meant listening to myself: sitting down and expressing my thoughts. I was so upset and bumped out of my resiliency zone yesterday. It took me a few attempts at skills to actually begin to feel better and deal. I'm glad I stuck with it. I want to start my mood journal again. I want to make a WRAP plan. Until tomorrow.. Last edited by Anonymous49105; Oct 05, 2020 at 10:51 PM. |

The Simpson's fell off my radar for a long time and I was surprised by how happy watching it made me the other day. Its one of those shows that, in my opinion, is genuinely funny and you end up feeling / getting pulled into the story, too.

The writer, Matt Groening, is a real person. When the series started, or even before, when he just had comic strips, he was known for being man just the realest most nerdiest guy ever!

Lynda Barry, maybe? I looked it up and there's a Lynda Barry. I read one of her books / comics a while back and liked it. Very chaotic, colorful.

I haven't seen the Simpsons for some time WG but you made me remember how funny the show is and so clever too. I think I may hunt some episodes out.
I find good comedy really helps switch my brain mode too. ♥️ |

Today I was much less "activated." I was a bit down / bored for some of the day. Some things I did that helped: kept to my schedule, reached out, socialized on zoom and with my parents.
I'd like to start a compassion practice, and also respect myself and boundaries / needs. This is a blue moon month, btw, and we have a full moon on Halloween, Ooooh. |

I like the idea of starting a compassion practice and respecting our boundaries and needs.
I might also try watching some cartoons. ![]()

There's a part of me that is scared to focus on compassion, because I worry I will become a doormat, like more than I already am, and it may not be healthy. At the same time, I can be judgmental of people, even my friends and close people family, so it might be worth it. If you find any other good cartoons, let me know. |

I've decided against any formal compassion practice for myself at this time.
Today was a bit boring. it really helped to write / journal in a word document. It was engaging and I felt connected to myself. I also showed up to something scheduled. I was late and almost didn't go. But I pushed through some mild anxiety and just went. I took this month off to heal and rest. In November I hope to start looking for a job again. It rained a lot today. We got storms and hail, but just briefly. |
