Wow. Today sucks. My partner just mentioned that I look tired and pale.
It's how I feel. I have been working very hard on myself (a good deal oftherapy, ACOA, Al Anon). But I feel like the rest of my life is falling apart. Why can't I hold it together? Every day I get up and look for jobs online but there is nothing. My body buzzes with feeling ill and nauseous. I feel like I have the flu and I just want to crawl into bed and cry. I feel both that life is precious and I also want to give up. Just in the sense that I can't do this. I don't have the stregth or energy to do this all. Everything around me feels like molasses. I want someone to tell me its OK, that I can rest now.

That's a good description. I'm going to have to remember it.

Wonderful...and draining. Working on yourself and working to find work are both stress-filled and tiring activities, and you've been engaged in both simultaneously. They may easily account for your tiredness, and, in light of all the symptoms you mention, it's possible you may be suffering from another illness. If your situation permits, see a doctor.

Please be friendly toward yourself, Elana05.

If you're feeling ill, it IS okay to rest. With all you've been trying to do at once, you could easily have worn yourself to a nubbin ~ and your immune system could be suffering. Get some rest and let things get back to normal so you'll have strength to persist. You can't keep going at this pace forever. There comes a time when your body resists ~ and this just might be the time. Get some sleep. God bless. Hugs, Lee

(((Elana05)))

I was just going to say that it sure is possible that you are sick, and noticed that others had the same thought. Great minds think alike, I guess .

You do have a lot on your plate, emotionally and physically. As a matter of fact, I just got over a flu or cold that had me feeling the very same as you described. I was cold, achy, exhausted, hungry and nauseaus. No high fever. I was just exhausted and I slept a lot! Four days of 12-hour sleep. My nurse told me that there is a bug going around causing those symptoms, but doctors won't do anything without a high fever. They just tell you to rest. So that could be "it" for you.

I hope that you get some much needed rest and begin feeling better soon. Gentle hugs to you ~ take care!

((((((Elana)))))) I'm impressed by all the hard work you've been doing - therapy, alanon/acoa, job hunting. It IS a lot. It's good for me to be reminded that though people may not feel like doing the work, they do it anyway. Too often, I surrender to my molasses-ness. Molasses is a word I use too, to describe my physical and mental sluggishness. I hope that you can let yourself rest and be restored.

You've been working hard on yourself, so give yourself a break too. You need to unwind, and that's ok. You're doing a lot all at once to make yourself better, and that's why you need to give yourself a break. You aren't perfect, and that's OK too.

Take some time enjoy your life instead of picking yourself apart. Granted - therapy is good. But be good to yourself. Get a massage, or a pedicure. Do something you enjoy that gives you your passion.

I know the molasses feeling well. You're not alone in that. I'm glad that you've been working so hard on yourself! That's excellent! Don't give up, but do rest, if you need it. Take good care of yourself, you deserve it.
