Hi, I'm new to this whole thing. I just wanted to be in some sort of contact with people who are going through similar things. Just a little lonely right now. I have a good suport system but they are on the outside looking in, they try to understand but I know it's hard for them. I think sometimes it would be easier if I had something more visable/understandable like cancer or a missing arm, at least it would be less vague and we all could fight it. But how do you fight something that is in your head? Especially when one day you are fine and the next all you want to do is hide under the covers. This past week I have been jumpy & feeling v empty, I don't know if it's the holidays or life in general. Sorry I don't mean to dump all that on you guys. Take care.

Hi quietlady! I think I know what you mean about wishing that your issues were more visible. I'm pretty new here too, but this is a good place to find people who understand.

Gray Days Take care.

hi quietlady! Welcome to Psych Central. Yes, depression is terrible to go through. I think we all understand what depression can do to a person. I'm glad you have such a good support system on the outside, even if they don't quite get it. Here you will find lots of support for your problems, and a lot of understanding. I wish you the best of luck here.

Hi QL,
Welcome to PC! Gray Days
I know what you mean. People think you're just being lazy, feeling sorry for yourself and trying to get attention.
It's something you have to go through to appreciate.

Hi Quitelady and welcome.

You have come to the right place for understanding. What you have said made so much sense to me. It is exactly how I have felt and still do sometimes. How do you fight something that is in your head? What a good question. There is a variety of things. Therapy to begin with. I also know what it is like to be "ok" one day and the next day "not ok". It is almost like life as you knew it is over. It is a scary place to be, I so understand. We are here for you. Please keep posting.

Huggles,

Jen

Quiet Lady,
Welcome. When the sky looks grey and wintery, aren't we supposed to pull the covers over our heads and hibernate? Sometimes you just have to block out what other people might think. It's really not that bad, I'm sure you're handling the really important stuff. Come on, chat your head off as you feel ready, and we'll do our best to make you feel supported, comfortable and right at home..
