How do you know you're worth it? There's a lot of people on this planet. Too many actually, using up the world's resources and stuff. I wonder to myself, "How do I know I'm worth it?" Staying and stuff?

People in my life are tired of me being so "depressed" and down all the time. When I talk to them about it, the response is more or less, "uh-huh...".

At that point.... there's not really much to live off of. You know?

Those are the people who have never experienced depression before! Sometimes I almost wish they could -- but I really wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. It's miserable, and it affects your whole life, and those around you too!

Of COURSE you're worth it! You have a legitimate ILLNESS. There is treatment for it --- are you being properly treated?? Are you regularly seeing your doctor? Are you seeing a therapist too?

I hope you've talked to your doctor about this -- and I hope he's referred you to a good therapist. If not, I hope he's at LEAST put you on some medication for depression! Don't just suffer with it. You don't have to be miserable. Call your doctor.

God bless & take care. Hugs, Lee

I know exactly what you're talking about. My thoughts go the same way (about being a waste of space and of treatment).

We're human beings. No one deserves to live a life of misery. Those who are miserable shouldn't be exterminated. They should be helped through their illness/es to live a healthy existence. That is what most of humanity believes in ~ Therefore, we should receive help to get us through our misery as well. Right?

Please do see your doctor, and talk about these feelings that you've been fighting. I'd recommend getting in to work with a therapist regularly. Gentle hugs and very best wishes to you!

You are certainly getting some excellent feedback. Getting the right help is crucial. You need both a therapist and a psychiatrist. Now, how do you know you are worth it? Because of your state of mind, you might bot be able to trust your answer right now. You can hold off answering until you feel better or you can ask people you trust. I really believe that everyone is worth it so that would include you, too. It may not feel like it right now but good therapy and a wonderful psychiatrist can do wonders. Please consider seeking help. You may return here in a month feeling completely different and able to help someone else. Keep us posted on your progress-

I know what you mean. If I am going to be this way my life am I worth it? My friends are getting tired of it too. I think I have lost a few friends. But whose is to say Im not worth it? How can they make that judgement, they can't and I know I want to change to be world everything the world can offer I might not be there now but I hope one day I will be. I know you will too. Everyone is worth it if you are trying to be worth it.

Hello there. I always feel like anybody out there can do better than me at anything I do, so why even try. But, the basic answer is this: If you think you aren't worth it then you won't be, and if you do, and you try, then you will be. My middle school history teacher told me one time, that "you get out of life what you put into it". I have doubted this statement many times, but never was I able to deny it completely. Of course, life isn't fair, and I wouldn't say that people deserve or don't deserve anything, everything is just the way it is. We don't have the choice of who to be when we are born.
