I've decided to go off meds (zoloft). I am supposed to take another package (3 months) but I won't. It's not making me feel better. I've been on them for almost 5 months now and lately I've lost energy and getting more depressed again. I don't want to try other meds either, I have a feeling it will only postpone the healing.... if I quit meds later I will experience the same things......depression....anxiety, fear....same as now. And I can't control it. I am so sick of this I just want to throw up. But I will fight this, no matter what it takes. But God knows....I wish I could give up sometimes. No more meds!

I second that! I don't like taking my "cocktail" of meds either. I'm going off meds

I don't think this is a good idea at all. There are many risks in going off your meds. One of them is that you're on them for a reason! Think of what happens when you are unmedicated. You may be feeling terrible on your meds and the depression is coming back, but think of how much worse your depression would be if you weren't on them?

Some people need meds. There is just no way around that. Nobody likes to take meds. I know if I could, I'd stop taking them altogether! But I know the consequences of going off them...I'd either end up in the hospital or dead. Plain and simple. And I don't want to go through all that just because I don't like the meds. If anything, let your doctor know what's going on with you, how you're feeling, and that you want to go off the meds. That's the best thing to do.

Please stay on your meds until your doc tells you otherwise or changes them!

I have to agree with Lex on this. If you are thinking of going off your meds completely please consult your physician. I know the frustration in finding the right med for you but please dont give up. Hang in there.

You guys may be right on this one. I wish I knew the right answer! My T told me not to go off meds either and to keep the same dose as now. I'll keep on listening to the pros then .....afterall, what are a few more months.... but there's resistance. (((lyza, lex, jmo)))
