Seriously. I don't know how much longer this is going to go on for and much longer I can deal with it.
Stephen Fry has been quoted saying something along the lines of moods being like the weather. He said that you can't deny that it is raining (because it clearly is) just like you can't deny you are depressed. He also said that people sometimes forget that the sun will come out eventually meaning that the depression will lift eventually. My question is what if it rains so much that there is a flood and I get carried away by the water and drown? Then what? ![]() |

As a human being you've a strong survival instinct. As a depression sufferer, however, surviving is often agonizing. ***sigh*** Is it time to change meds, therapists, or the whole approach?

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Hope all the hugs will help a little. Sometimes it takes a few (or a lot) of different med combinations to get yourself stable. I think asking your T is a good idea, but you might want to ask your pdoc as well. Hang in there, meantime. I know how hard it is ![]()

You've suffered from depression long enough perhaps to have a sense of its patterns or cycles, yes? Can you describe the patterns, or are your worst periods of depression the result of random events/triggers?
How many stressors are in your daily life? Can you eliminate or minimize stressors? The reason I ask is because it can be exceptionally difficult to manage depression when your environment(s) is constantly fueling it.

I found it took a long time to get my meds right. That with the combination of good therapy helped. Good luck to you.

![]() ![]() ![]() if you're in a flood, and you can't fight the current, your T can be your life boat and lifesaver. And so can meds and any other type of health care you can get. Also I sometimes think riding out the storm can help... trying to find ways to just find a log and float for a while, and forget how much trouble you're in. I've heard that people who don't know how to swim would forget to breath and splash around so much they would sink, rather than breathing and floating thing that helped for me, is seeing people on this forum and other spots that have been there before and have gotten out. I'm am one of those people, I think... I couldn't see how there could be light again and now I do see it. Don't give up hope ![]()
