I was crying last night for no reason. Literally. I just felt better to cry.

At least there is light at the end of the tunnel. I have an appt set up for Monday to assess my progress.

Wondering if ya'lll have suggestions on how to curb crying spells and/or make it until Mon.

Tonight I have plans (with my dogs...plural since I just adopted one last night - yeah!!). I might just snuggle or play tug of war, if that's all I feel up to doing. Friday is nothing. Saturday I go to visit family (Gram's surprise 85th birthday party) and Sunday is nothing.

Ideas??? I just don't want to lie in bed and cry, you know?

Movies, lots of walking with your dogs, books? And do cry. It really does help if you're capable of crying. Just let it all out and keep the light at the end of the tunnel in mind because it really is there even if it disappeares from view at times.
Thanks for this!

Crying is in our genes because it often does make us feel better. Is it any crying that alarms you? Crying sometimes, if it results in your feeling better, is nothing to be alarmed about.

Is more going on?

thanks guys. Na, I just don't like it when my eyes get puffy. I pulled out the Hemmroid cream just b/c I heard that works well on puffy eyes. I might just get in my pjs tonight and eat ice cream and play with the dogs. I totally just want to do that ALL weekend. Is that allowed?

Yea, I've NEVER had a problem crying. I just don't think it makes me feel better, per say. I just feel embarassed about it and try and hide it- weakness!!! Or so I think sometimes. It's fine when others cry, but I don't need to cry when there are people out in the world without food, or a home, dying of cancer. Idk.

I'm seeing my parents on Saturday, as we have a 3 hour drive together, and I am thinking of just letting them in on how I"m doing. My mom also suffers from depression, so she is very in-tune with what is going on, her feelings, and is really aware of when I'm down (sometimes even before I know that something is up). Couldn't hurt letting them know. Mom is currently in outpatient therapy and group counseling for her depression. It has been bad lately. I don't want to make her or my dad worry.

Hang on until the appt. Sharing with your family could help. I've never been comfortable enough to do it, but I think people know based on moodiness etc. Would be curious to hear how it goes. I'd watch about 40 movies this weekend.
Thanks for this!

Steve - that's a great idea to watch 40 movies! Anything good?

Thanks Rohag - the party was awsome. My grandmother was soooo excited (and surprised). I had a good ride there with my parents. My mom was a little much to take, but as was expected.

Today I'm keying down. I took the dogs to the dog park and gave them baths (which was much needed after the fun day in the mud). Not looking forward to my appt tomorrow, but something I gotta do.

I feel like maybe I shoudl make a list of how I was feeling and really be able to identify how I was feeling.
Thanks for this!

How'd the appointment go?

Hoping that it gave you some insight to the tears. Not much help from me right now, other than to say I can totally relate. Today was one of those days where I dragged myself out of bed for work, and spent the entire day fighting tears and wishing I could be crying in bed instead. Guess we all have spots like this, so know you aren't alone!

Actually tried horror movies to see if I feel anything. Not a whole lot. I use to get easily freaked out by them.

Times like this i actually like depressing, realistic movies to identify with the character.

That might be bad advice though. Sometimes I almost prefer to wallow in it.

this may help...did for my sister...try to stay away from your bed til time to go to sleep.
one thing that helped me from my pdoc...pick a time each day/one hour when you allow yourself to cry. everytime except for that hour you feel like crying remind yourself it's not your crying hour and put off crying. it really helped me. sometime after my crying hour that i didn't use for crying i'd feel like crying. i checked the time and i'd missed that "special" hour so i'd have to wait til the next day. the crying got less and less but one does have to be willing for this to work and no cheating.
glad you called your T.,too.

Hum, that's actually a great idea. I've never heard of that.

Now I'm not crying anymore, I'm kinda void of emotion. I just walk around all down and stuff. Last night I just went to bed so I wouldn't have to feel anything. One more day down. I hate to say that, but it's true.
