I'm sorry, I don't know what to ask for. I just know that I'm feeling really terrible and need help. But I don't even know what that would look like.

The worst thing is that I'm so very tired. I can't sleep at all. Dark scares me. Bed scares me. What I see when I close my eyes scares me.

I remember this feeling all too well. Sending kind, gentle thoughts and good wishes to you. I hope that you are able to get some rest soon.

I second Sleeps' idea. Couch, sound, dim light.

I know a doctor would poo poo that kind of sleep regimen, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do to get a couple of nights of good sleep to get on top of feeling so low. I know I sleep better with a dim light and noise in the room. Not the TV usually because the light changes and the volume changes and you get distracted by the talking.

My best bet at falling asleep when I don't want to is to try and stay up for a late TV show that I REALLY want to see. Never fails, I fall asleep before it comes on. help....

I know I have been sleeping on the couch with the tv on. I wake up on and off all night but at least i get some sleep. You may want to talk to your doc about getting something to help you sleep. Do you have something from your childhood like a favorite stuffed animal to hold?

I hope you start to get some sleep soon. ((((((((((((jammerlich)))))))))))))))))

I remember having this problem in the past. Try journaling. Then try to get some rest on the couch with the radio or tv in the background. An animal or stuffed animal would be very beneficial, too.

Maybe you could have a friend come over to stay with you while you were sleeping.

Not being able to sleep isn't funny but this made me laugh out loud. I know exactly what you mean.
I agree with the others about the sofa, the tv and dim lighting. Good ideas. And maybe a warm bath before settling down on the sofa with a cup of warm cocoa?
