Today I was diagnosed with clinical depression and prescribed sertraline and therapy.
As much as I hate the label, the door to recovery has been opened. So, does anyone have experience with sertraline? |

I don't take meds but that's Zoloft right? and in case you want to post there also, there's a forum for meds -- http://forums.psychcentral.com/forumdisplay.php?f=13 Wishing you well on your journey.

Setraline is great. I've been on it for five months (wow, time flies) and it made me very stable. All those terrible depression symptoms - gone. Yes, there is still a long long way to recovery through therapy but now I am able to live.
There have only been some side effects for me - arm twitches, slight nausea, sleepiness but they passed within the first month or so. I really hope it's going to help you as much as it did me. |

I was on zoloft/setraline for 3 years before it pooped out. The start up was easy for me, and I even (stupidly) cold turkey quit twice with little trouble. The 3rd time I came off of it it revealed my major depression/anxiety to be worse than ever, but this was just a timing coincidence. Overall I enjoyed my experience with the drug. Mild dizziness was all I ever had and it was rare. Zoloft is not a week 1 med in my experience. I took 3-5 weeks before it even STARTED to help, but when it did it was a quick fix. Good luck with it and remember setraline is one of the more "safe and mild" meds in the Antidepressant world.

Thanks for the reviews and encouragement. I'll stick with it and will post any side effects.
