I'm sorry for the new thread only because this, but after 3 months of lying in my bed, today I was able to go out for a short jogging!!!!!!
I am super proud of myself right now, and of course dying
i'm not gonna let my body become weak! I'm gonna make it strong!!
hell yeah!
oh and we could motivate each other in this thread maybe! whenever someone goes out for a jog, just compliment him/her... maybe
that would be great.
good day everybody!

PS: I DIDN'T feel that my body's strong enough for it, and I WAS CAPABLE to do it! So if you feel you're not able to do it, that doesn't mean you're not able! trust me!

Thats a big achievement newlifeyeah. I go through spurts where I exercise and feel great...just wish I could keep it going. Be careful not to over do it, because you may feel sore. At least its the good kind of sore ...right? Exercise makes a huge difference is how you feel. Even though I'm not bipolar myself my brother was, so that's why I offer support in this forum sometimes. I'll be cheering you on.

Don't be afraid, it would definitely help you a lot! exercise is just the best therapy. So funny, when it feels like it's the last thing you want to do...

well not that much. I didn't measure it, but I went kind of easy on myself, because I was literally in bed for 3 months.

I did about 15 minutes two days ago, and yesterday probably like 24-25.
around 2-2,5 miles no big deal, nothing extra huge.

Just wanted to check on this thread and I'm happy to see you're still inspired to exercise. I admire your motivation and keep up the great job. Since I'm in my 50's I find power walking suits me better, aerobic exercise with DVD's and weight training. You might want to get a set of weights because this is the fastest way to build muscle tone. Keep jogging though and good luck.

It's my 3rd day of jogging, and I feel I need to take a day off. I read it online, that actually for beginners it's better for the body to run only every other day. Because then the body has time to reenergize itself. i feel two days in a row was great, but today I shouldve taken a rest. But no problem, at least I learned how to do it the healthy and gradual way.
On the off-days I'm gonna perhaps do pushups or whatever.

Good job, newlifeyeah! Your thread inspired me to go for a jog after reading it...and it was like being hit with a sudden epiphany of "why can't I do this more often?". I used to run a lot, but my depression killed all my motivation and prevented me from exercising much. And for the first few minutes of the jog, I was hating it and wanting to go back to bed. But then I kept going...and going...and going...and after a while, I started feeling better. The sun on my skin felt great, the burn in my legs felt great, and I didn't have to worry about anything that was happening in my life. It was just me and a road. It was hard to actually get out of bed and do it, but once I was outside and away from the house...I felt good. I almost felt like my old self again.

now that's what I'm talking about! I think out of all the cures I am currently doing, running was the one that gave the most instant, and fastest relief, joy and happiness. So I think it really is essential if you want to overcome depression!
good luck, I'm happy that I motivated you! keep up the good work!

been out again today, it was great. very cold and windy weather though, and only managed to sleep like 5 and a half hours. But I still went out and did it. i was only able to fall asleep at like 5AM, so.... definitely not rested. but whatever, it's just a day.. along comes the new day... I figured if I work hard, I will eventually get the results. it doesn't come overnight i guess.
