Hi. I am hoping to find someone to talk to. I have been depressed on and off for years but the last 4 have been the worst. I was seeing a therapist for about a year but I lost my insurance and now have no-one to talk to. I lost my daughter 4 years ago in April and I just can't seem to get out of this rutt I am in. I scared alot. I am married and have 3 other children who we adopted 5 yrs ago. The 2 oldest are biological siblings and have special needs. I feel like I have failed them in so many ways. The one has ODD, steals, lies and has problems in school. The younger one has Reative Attachmant Disorder, ODD, ADHD. He is very violent to me. He is 10 years old. It is so hard to deal with all their problems and deal with the death of my daughter. I don't sleep much any more and often don't feel like doing anything. I know that it is affecting my family but I can't stop. I am scared. Please, can someone out there help me.

I am so sorry you are having such a bad time. When you lose a child it is so hard, and then you have that mom guilt think for feeling too depressed to feel you are at your best it seem. Be kind to youself, you are doing the best you are able to at this moment. If you knew how to do better you would. Please talk to us, it may help. We aren't as good as therapy, but we are a listening ear and not judging you.
Be good to you.

Hello, and welcome to the Forums
First I want to say that I am sorry to hear of your loss of your daughter, I am not a parent and have not lost any children, and I can only imagine the tremendous grief you must be going through.

I understand not feeling like doing anything, it is part of the depression and I am sure the added stress of your situation has alot to do with the extent of the depression. Is there any way that you can get a Therapist based on your income since loosing you insurance? This is a good place to start and there are alot of really helpful nice people here, many with children and families who can probubly help you more than I can. Just wanted you to know I hope things look up for you and say hello.

Take Care.

I am so sorry about the loss of your daughter. I could not imagine your pain New Here and I am so sorry.

You found a wonderful group to be here for you. I also wanted to mention that you should talk to your doctor and tell him/her how you are feeling. Are you on medications and/or therapy to help you cope? I would make an appointment with your doctor right away. You are under so much stress and there are ways to help you get on your feet hun.

Keep posting so we can offer you support and guidance.
